as long as people (generaly speaking, not aimed at you) aren't sure when you stop being new, how can they still blaim the new members of what goes wrong?
I agree and as I said many older members cause equal probblems with elitist behaviour and insults such as noob, newb, padewan etc.

yeah but I mean if you (general you) can't say when you're new, how can you say when you're old?
esoteric, but a good point 🙂 So shall we say a lot of people on here are the problem of indeterminate length of duration on KMC. But in my opinion they are not enough of a problem for new rules or a crackdwn to be needed. The biggest problem is elitism.
I actually think there's a larger problem with elitism among newer members (people who've only been here a couple months). There are many cases of people who bash others who joined only a month or two after them for being 'noobs'.
That I think is a more common problem than the people who've been here a couple years bashing on newer members for being 'noobs'.

I think its an across the board problem from a small number of people and its not just noobs a number of subtle types of bullying are exhibited in all message forums not just this one. Clique groups, groupthink etc.

Not everyone uses those programs....and as it's the off-topic forum, it's expected for things to go off-topic....meh.
This or maybe Off-Topic just means that there the thread don't fit any other topics go there......if you are not sure ofthe topicsa check my sig.....
On this board a whole wrong definition of Off-Topic-Forum is used.....it doesn't mean that every Thread has to go to shit after three posts it just eans you can post threads there that do't fit the GDF or the other Theme Forums.....

Anyway, why is it that OTF is being used as a Chat Room ?
arent MSN, Yahoo, AOL and what-not there to serve for this purpose ?
I agree about the 'elitism' but as Lana said, it appears to be the relatively 'new' members bashing the very 'new', rather than the members who have been with KMC a couple of years or so. I know it's difficult to determine who is new and who isn't, but being here two years definitely makes a member 'older' than someone who has been here two months.

Just because it differs from your personal definition of 'off-topic' does not make it the 'wrong' one.
I have to agree with Ush here Bardock, I think you missed the point, I think the OTF was created (wasn't here at the time) exactly to allow ppl to make threads go to hell after three posts.
If you want a serious discussion about something that doesn't fit the themed-fora (as I call them) put it in GDF.
I didn't say that it wasn't meant to be that way I am just saying that this in general is not the definition of Off-Topic Forum. Anyways there are threads that don't fit the GDF (and would be closed rather fast) but that still doesn't mean that it deserves to be Off-Topic after two posts....although Off-topic members wouldn't ever see that aand rather continue posting Smilies for 4 Pages instead of just sticking to the topic (cause there are not enough silie threads I guess)
