well in ultimates on panel they clocked him at 250mph, i remeber in the old school handbook(the one that has pietro at 180) saying he can run at 300, and i half remeber seeing a picture where he was running on a lonely strip of highway in the desert(perhaps heading back to ground zero) and some befuddled cops in a squad car only saw a blur, but thier radar scanner read 300mph

It's just bad writing. That's all it is. In reality Hulk shouldn't even be put in such stupid matches. A well written and respected Hulk should and could easily beat any character class 90 and over with considerable ease, but stupid writers have to put him up against Iron Man, Wolverine, and Spider-Man because they can't come up with better stuff. He should only be put up against characters in his class strength in my opinion.
