turning over to the darkside

do you think that palp used a huge mind trick to turn anakin to the darkside, because he turned really quickly, in 1 scene he turned, help me out......

if prolonged manipulation is a mind trick then yes.
Palps set the wheels in motion very early on.

NO

Mind tricks work only on the weak minded so... wait a minute... Anakin is weak minded...

Anyways, It all had to do with manipulation IMO, not a sith mnd trick.

moff jango, why do you say no

No, it was not a Mind Trick. Just Palpy's manipulation.

Examples of Mind Tricks:

"You do not need to see his identification. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along." - Obi-Wan's bypassing of the stormtroopers

*click* "What was that?" - Obi-Wan's creation of a loud distracting noise.

I don't see Palpatine doing either of those.

It wasn't mind trick. It was sheer and pure manipulation.

It was Anakin being slowly maniupliated by palps from when he was a child, thats what. thats not a mind trick, they dont work on strong minded people like Jedi.

example of a mind trick:

"Hey you wanna buy some deathsticks?"
"You dont want to sell me deathsticks.."
"I dont wanna sell you deathsticks"
"you want to go home and rethink your life"
"i want to go home and rethink my life"

So let's use one on Sith-Nerd.

HELLOO!! am i the ONLY one who noticed the DARK SIDE DRUGGING ANAKIND DURING THIS SCENCE?!?!?!

Look at Anakin's face he looks like a bug going to one of those bright lights..

he's like

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (almost like a zombie)

and it is not Palps

It is the Darkside!!!!!!!

it is addicting and confusing

Palpatine obviously conned Anakin into to making the choices he made in Ep.3.

He was afraid to lose his mother.
Fear is the path to the darkside
Fear leads to anger (Anakin's mother dies)
Anger leads to hate (Anakin kills the Sand People)
Hate leads to suffering (Anakin grows closer to the darkside)

And then that fear of losing his mother turns into fear of losing his wife, which turns into anger that the only way to save her is being killed off, and then hate when she 'turns on him' and he chokes her, and finishes with suffering because he killed off his wife.

well i wuldnt call it jus palpatine's manipulation

loss of mother
massacre of sand people
impatience
selfishness (he and his wife were talking in hotel room...said he wanted more power)
killing of jedi and younglings
loss of wife
irony of the loss of his wife
and then plapy manipulation

and well that about sums it up for me

Palpatine took advantage of all those things; he was the one that pushed Anakin over the edge. Anakin was already falling, Palpatine just brought in that 'sooner than later' touch. 😄

Does the massacre of sand people really count? C'mon, they killed his mom--the @$$holes deserved it. I'm sure Ani loved every second of it. (I would) it's kinda hard to forgive the killer of a family member--especially a bunch of creatures that make unintelligible noises. I know that Jedi hafta respect life in any form, but still.

Yes, it does count. Merciless murder of a entire village, including women and children who had nothing to do with the murder of his mother.

It WAS merciful. He just beheaded them, where they TORTURED his mother to death. And who says that the women and kids had nothing to do with it???

That's the one "dark" deed that I give Vader props for.

...

How would you like it if your dad killed some woman, and the woman's son came and slaughtered you and all of your friends? Not evil at all, eh?
