Suggestion for GMG; Calm it down buddy, a forceful nature is not taken lightly here, I have first hand experience of that. KMC has pacified me some but I still manage to piss people off on a regular basis.

You shouldn't have to 'win people over', that's exactly your mistake! You should be able to approach new people in a manner which introduces you in a good light, be yourself, you can't be a total prick. I don't believe you're that bad. Perhaps just a little over excitable?
