Simon Raynard was in the training facilities trying to control his newly acquired teleportation power. He had his primary power down. He could easily make any weapon appear anywhere he wanted it to, even in the hands of someone else. He just couldn't get this whole teleporting thing. He knew that he could do it, (he did it 3 times), he just couldn't do it when he wanted to. It only happened when he was sacred.
He had the training room set on the evading sequence. All kinds of stuff was being thrown at him. Lasers, debris, lightning, water, you name it. A lightning bolt was just about to strike him down after he dodged two fire balls, a sewer cover and a car.
"Oh sh--!" He disappeared from where he was standing a wound up in the dark place he now knew as the Shadowlands.
Ever since Simon made a bat appear out of thin air when he was getting jumped by some rival football players after his team beat them, he started to question himself. He wondered if he was even human. When he told his parents what had happened, they told him that his father was a being call a Shadow creature from a place call the Shadowlands and that Simon himself was a half Shadow creature since his mother was a normal human.
Simon was upset with his parents not for what they told him but the fact that they kept it from him all his life. He was so mad at them that he blurted out that he liked guys the same way that he liked girls. His parents were crushed. They told him that it was just a phase and that he'll grow out of it. But they eventually accepted him for who he was and not what he was.
When Simon heard about a school for kids wit special gifts, he jumped at the chance to go there. When he got accepted, he was surprised to find that no one judged him for his sexuality. He made friends quickly.
One day, he was out for a walk by himself when a group gay bashers attacked him. He made a metal staff appear out of nowhere hoping that would scare the attackers away but they advanced. Simon was a brave guy, but who wouldn't be afraid of a bunch of people attacked you. He disappeared right in front of the group. They freaked out and ran away.
Simon opened his eyes to a place that was so dark and desolate it made him feel empty. For some reason he knew that this place was what his parents called the Shadowlands. He didn't know how he knew that, he just did. He wondered around for a bit and disappeared back to where he was standing before.
He immediately went home to tell his parents about it. His father proceeded to tell him that Shadow creatures have a variety of powers. They can make weapons appear out of thin air called shadow weapons, dark energy balls, shape shifting, super strength, invisibility and teleportation. But since Simon was only part Shadow creature, he may not receive all of the powers.
Simon was surprised to learn this. He asked his father to help him learn how to control the teleportation thing but his father told him that he couldn't help him because it worked differently for each Shadow creature. His father's teleportation was activated by his anger and Simon's was activated by his fear.
So that's what Simon was doing in the training room. He knew that he was going to teleport back to earth any minute so he called out as loud as he could for any other creature that might be around. He saw four kids that looked familiar turn around and look at him. Just as he was teleporting back to earth, he realized that they went to the same school as him.
james was thinking of something he had to do, something he forgot about, then he sudenly remembered, "i got to go, i just remembered i have a class to teach, it was truly nice to see you again, alex i would truly enjoy your company, it's a martial arts class, i need some more expierenced to help me teach, and tech i would like you to check the security room, make sure everything is working, then come to class" james said inviteing alex and "yeah i was just thinking the same thing," tech said going and started walking to the booth, james knocked to jane and turned around, hoping alex would follow, he was very interested in the avion race, and would love to see how they fight

Alex shrugged quietly as his armor dies out as he walked with him his hand still by his weapon out of habit
