Simon Raynard was sitting in his room at Hero High. It was a special school for kids who wanted to learn how to use their powers to do good. He knew for a long time that he had powers. He had a hard past with them, however.
The reason that he had powers in the first place was because he was a Shadow creature. His parents told him when he first discovered his powers. His football team had just won the state championship and he was walking home. Some kids from the rival team jumped him. Somehow, a metal bat appeared in his hands.
When he told his parents what happened, they told him that his father was a shadow creature from a place called the Shadow lands and that Simon was a half shadow creature. Simon was so upset that his parents hid this from him that he blurted out that he was bisexual. His parents were destroyed but eventually came to accept him.
He then learned that he could teleport when he was attacked by a group of homo phobics. He was surrounded and they were moving in for an attack when he just disappeared. After he told his parents this, his father told him that shadow creatures have a variety of powers. Shadow weapons, teleportation, dark energy balls, shape shifting, invisibility and super strength. But since Simon was only a half shadow creature, he might not receive all of the powers.
Simon then heard of a school where kids went to learn how to use there powers. He jumped at the chance and got accepted at Hero High. He got in a class on how to learn how to teleport. He found out that his teleportation power was activated by his fear and until he learned how to control it, he just needed to get scared. He also learned that when he teleports, it's time limited and that he enters the Shadow lands.
Simon is strong enough, when scared enough, to teleport a full class of 28 students and 2 teachers to the Shadow lands. This was first noticed when he was in a strategic class and fell asleep. He had a nightmare that the Shadow lands were being distroyed by some other kind of creature that sort of resembled a Minotaur. He jolted awoke to find that he was in the Shadow lands with his whole class.
After they teleported back, Simon was so afraid of the dream that his teleportation went off at all times. It started to effect his shadow weapon power. They started to appear all over the place. The bathrooms, cafeteria, the other side of town. Simon was fed up and left Hero High.
He asked his father if there was a way that he could shut off his powers or at least regain some control over them. His father said that he had to go to the source of his fear and teleported Simon to the Shadow lands.
While there, Simon met another teenage shadow creature named Dai'Lon. He told Simon that his dream of the Minotaur creatures attacking was given to him by the current guardian of the Shadow lands to help in the coming conflict between the shadow creatures and minotaurs. Dai'Lon then proceeded to teach Simon how to control his powers and combine them to make his shadow weapons appear where ever it is that he wanted them.
After a while, Simon and Dai'Lon eventually feel in love with each other and started a relationship. When the war started, the shadow creatures were on the losing end. When Simon saw that Dai'Lon had been killed, he was so sad and enraged that he summoned a dark energy ball filled with all of his and the rest of the shadow creatures fear and anger and wiped out the whole Minotaur army by himself.
After the war and reconstruction of the Shadow lands, Simon selected to be the shadow creatures new guardian seeing that he was much more powerful than the current one. He accepted and teleported back home. His parents praised and comforted him on both his accomplishments and broken heart.
He re enrolled and got accepted back into Hero High. He is currently going back and fourth between Hero High and the Shadow lands as their guardian.
