"Ok, that's great for you, but what about the rest of us," Simon said. "They just destroyed our school. Killed innocent kids. And for what, our DNA. I say we find out where the bastards are, and see how they feel about getting eliminated."
Ben was taking care of Andy when Simon's parent mom came in the room.
"Hi. Do you need any help," she asked.
"Um, not right now. He's sleeping. It's when he wakes up that I'm going to need help."
"Oh, ok."
After a long pause, "So you have powers, too?"
Ben was caught off guard. He hadn't talked to anyone without powers in a while.
"Um, yeah. Well, at least I did. You know the school got attacked. And the ass-," Ben caught himself. "The idiots that did it shot me and a whole lot of other students with something that took away our powers."
"Oh my god. Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine minus the lack of my powers. I just can't help but wonder why Simon didn't lose his powers when he got shot."
Simon's mom thought it strange that Ben didn't know that Simon was only half human.
"Simon didn't tell you. He isn't fully human. His father is a creature from a place called the Shadow lands."
Ben thought this woman was crazy. But it was believable. The school he went to was a place for kids with superpowers. Why not have one that was from some other dimension.
Simon didn't trust this guy.
"Who is he," he whispered to Andrew, "friend or foe?"
"So let me get this straight," Ben said. "Simon is a half shadow creature. He's also the guardian of the Shadow lands because he's the strongest shadow creature alive. And he's bi?"
"Yeah, that's about it," Simon's mom said.
Andy called for Simon.
"So that little on is yours," Mrs. Raynard asked.
"Uh, that's a long story. But yeah, he's mine now," Ben replied.
"Well, apparently, we have nothing but time now," she said.

james let go of simon pushing him back alittle and walked terry to the lab, which was medium sized but was totally high tech, and had some lower-tech stuff that were still most commonly used "have fun, i hope it's atquite" james said with a bow and left the room
james returned to the students "follow me and i'll show you the rooms, and i'll show you where to find food" james said showing the students around, avoid the room he was earlier in, he didn't want to raise curiosity, he showed them the cafeteria which was run by advancded robots that were online and cooking food, then he showed them the comfortable rooms that were much smaller than the school rooms
