Given the proper guidance, any child can be steered to a healthy lifestyle regardless of media influences. It is those who are neglected, or parents who do not take an interest in their children's interests who become the anti-social, possibly violent ones. If I have children I'm going to let them read comics as teenagers if they want to, but I'll make sure they realize which world is reality and which isn't. We don't need to be afraid of the violent comics, or violent media in general...we just need to be informed and prepared. That, and I'll hold off giving them my Authority collection until they're at least 18. Embracing diversity is an important virtue for anyone, but exposing younger children to addicts, people who enjoy killing, etc. could be detrimental.
