Janus Disclaimer (Keep on top)

For the last time: for all those who are new-

Wikipedia is not THE official source of all that is Star Wars. The site itself is a compilation of submitted material, not actual research done by a legion of professionals with the canon okay of Lucasarts itself. I've seen about eight threads with Tulak Hord (Who was featured in perhaps two dialogue options total) first uses Juyo and now apparently created it. This isn't the first line of nonsense I've seen, and anyone who cites Wikipedia should be discredited. Exception? When Wikipedia gets an official okay from Lucasarts and all of its information is verified with real sources. Until then, don't cite it. That or Super Shadow.

Amen. Wikipedia is only an alright source of quick information that is definitely not always right. Most people who quote it tend to leave out the possibly part that is actually in the site though.

I think a quote on wikipedia is better than no quote at all.

Some yes, others, no. The speculation and when Wikipedia trys to say that someone is the most powerful Jedi and stuff like it's a unquestionable fact should be left alone. Wikipedia should simply say, one of the most powerful, or many think he's powerful, or somesuch.

Wikipedia needs inside sources to verify stuff, not user feedback.

Bump

i agree with Janus all the way

Smart man

man?...u shouldv'e said kid...im like 12 an a half

Ouch. You don't even have to shave yet. Yeah, smart kid.

i had to start shaving at 12. actually 11 1/2

Me too. Wish I hadn't; it's a pain in the ass.

its not what is cracked up to be. it was fun the first three times, then it gets real old real fast.

And ripped my skin up bad. Helped the production of zits. And if you don't shave, everyone throws it in your face like it's a cardinal sin.

About time somebody said this, people around here treat Wiki like the bible. I hate having to go to the site to post quotes and argue them on this board.

Now somebody needs a thread that says Kreia lies! Everything she says isn't true.

You hypocrite, you repeatedly stated that Wikipedia said that Yoda is the most powerful Jedi like it was from God or something, was totally canon and could not be questioned in any way, shape, or form. And now you act like you've been fighting all Wikipedia things from the very beginning? Do us a favor and stop trying to sound smart.

Wikipedia is not totally bad..its not as good as Star Wars. com, but its better than SS and better than nothing at all. Nothing on there is totally bull...like on other sites.

Wikipedia is good for a lot of info, but not on opinions. And unless they can show a good source anything definite on their site is not trusted.

Well, Wikipedia seems okay for fact, but it's determining fact from fiction that is the hard part. Let me put it to you this way- Wikipedia is built up from patron submissions, meaning anyone can submit a suggestion to edit an article. Now, since I first posted the Wikipedia site link some three months ago (And yes, I was the original sinner, but I have repented) the articles have grown to include mostly opinionated, biased assumptions and have only grown to make this subforum unbearable. The little bit I pulled up on tulak Hord was NOT in the database when I posted the link here three months ago. How do I know that? I read EVERYTHING on that site regarding the topics here. Everything. And there was no mention of Juyo with Hord, or any of that crap. And to top that off, Darth Revan is in the top six searches for the site! So I'm of the mind that people from here have been bombarding Wikipedia with suggestions and articles are changing because of it. If Wikipedia becomes an extension of the factions here, it should be disallowed as a source altogether unless it can be backed by another source (Meaning, in essence, it isn't needed anyways). Even if, by some miracle, no one from here had a hand in the new editing, the site should still be disallowed. Why? Like I said, it's hard for people to separate fact from assumption. If you're not well-read enough and you feel the need to look up a character or something CROSS REFERENCE IT! If you don't understand what that means, I'll tell you: If you read something and you believe it is fact, double, hell... triple check it with other sources. And make them reliable ones, like EU novels, interviews with Lucas, Starwars.com or something.

And for my next complaint: ENOUGH WITH THE EVERYONE VERSUS REVAN THREADS!

I've already been wedged into the pro-Revan faction already, so I doubt anyone will take me seriously, but my reasoning is this:

We don't make Everyone and their mother versus NJO Luke. We don't make half a dozen unbalanced threads regarding someone we know to be Revan's peer and another who is his better versus him in a room where he starts in quicksand with a handbag in one hand and a snake in the other and expect results. Seriously, there needs to be a sorting here of the grain from the chaff, because the threads being made lately are all a rehash of the same bullshit.

I done that because you posted that Wiki said Revan was thought to be the most powerful, so I went there and posted what it said about Yoda. It was just to make a point.

On this forum Wiki is in every thread I see, and I get tired of having to go there read the quotes about people, I don't believe Wiki 100%, When you posted what it said about Revan everybody thought Revan was the strongest and most powerful, and I just wanted to show that the site you took that from said something better about Yoda. I was just showing you your site for info said something good about Yoda and not just Revan. And in the other thread after I posted that about Yoda you just blew it down and said Wiki isn't canon, but before I posted it you repeatedly argued that quote about Revan in a lot of threads in Revan's defense. So, that makes you a hypocrite. 😛 Really though lets just drop it. It is useless to start bickering about it.
