Wow, the Flash IS uberpowerful

I just watched tonight's Justice League, I think its a repeat but first time I saw it, it was "Divided We Fall"

To summarize, the JL was faced up against Luthor merged with Brainiac in a nano armor, after Brainiac knocked everyone out only Flash was left standing, just as Brainiac was about to finish up Flash, Flash went into hyper mode (the animation was pretty awesome along with the sound) and utterly destroyed Brainiac. It was one of the most amazing animated fight scenes, Flash actually used the oft-talked about move when he vibrates his opponent until they explode.

I'm especially surprised because usually the cartooons make the characters much weaker than they really are, but today the Flash was godly, in the end he actually disappeared partially because he was attracted to the speed force but then the JLA pulled him back.

Is this the last episode of this season's JL?

Check out the Justice League Unlimited thread.

Yes, Flash finally got the credit he deserved in that ep.

There is one more episode called Epilogue. But it is more or less a Batman Beyond episode with a huge batman secret. That will be the end of JLU for now....

...Then there is supposedly two more 13-episode seasons coming our way sometime in the future.

Yeah, it was pretty buff for the cartoon. In the comics he always does stuff like building sandcastles in seconds by moving one grain of sand at a time with a toothpick.

I like how they made that sequence kinda emotional, hard to describe but it seemed like the Flash was transcending everyone and everything at that moment...

In most episodes, all Flash does is run around...and he doesn't even seem to do that very well

But wow, he came up big time.

2 questions:

Is Flash in the comics more powerful than what he did in this JL episode?

Can the Flash fly with his speed, cuz that would be a MAJOR weakness.

Flash beat the sh*t out of Luthor! He's never gonna be this cool again!

he could fly in some old comics but i dont know if he can do it now...

Yeah, they went pretty Barry Allen with him in this episode. It was cool, but I'm glad they placed a handicap on him so he's not doing it every five minutes. I've never known a Flash to fly per se, but he can spin or rotate for limited ascent or levitation.

That was Barry Allen. The JLU Flash is Wally West who is faster than Barry.

But I dont think either one of them could fly.

Yeah, but near the end there, Barry was a lean mean molecule vibrating machine. "If I wave my hand while vibrating my molecular structure at great speeds, I can make a delicious ham sandwich." He was just doing retarded things and getting away from what the Flash is supposed to be: The Fastest Man On Earth. Which is why the offed him. Wally's got some neat speed force tricks, but when you get down to it, mostly he runs really fast, and stays true to the core of what the Flash's powers should be.

Was it Barry who was also fast enough to run up a handful of thrown dust?

The way his power's designed, if he worked on it he COULD fly, but I think that would take a little something away from his character in general.

Barry allen ran up particles of pollen to get at a flying guy. Now that was friggin awesome.
Barry was given the most respectful death in a comic than I can ever remember. Even other companies gave tribute to him somehow when he died.

What I've seen though, is as soon as Flash leaves solid ground, he's at the mercy of gravity as much or more than anyone.

The way this episode played out with Wally using his powers to that level was exactly like an old Flash story arc called Terminal Velocity. But in the books, Wally answered the call of the speedforce and came back with powers beyond what he once had.

Tonight on Boomerang they showed a Flash cartoon.

He got a running start, jumped and "flew" for a little while.

They are now showing Batman TAS (12am E / 11 pm C) and Superman TAS (12:30am E / 11:30pm C) on Boomerang:

and in btwn they show old 5-minute Superfriends cartoons.
