"Movie Madness" - MDF Social Thread

The Ring was okay for me. I guess I got caught up in the hype of everyone saying how scary it was. When I finally saw it, there was nothing scary about it, and I scare easier than 9 year-old school girls.

Not a bad thriller though.

Spoiler:
"Ring 2" was pathetic, IMO. Don't ask why I am spoilering it..

Today went as follows:

Watched:

Boondock Saints
Saints and Soldiers
Frequency

Rented:

Layer Cake
Hide and Creep
The Gold Rush/Pay Day
Mom and Dad Save the World

Purchased:

Gladiator 3 Disc
Oldboy
The Transporter SE
True Romance 2 Disc DC

..oh, and I joined the Home Theatre Forum for fun. 😊

I could go on Rotten Tomatoes to find that out Cin. 😉

I've been a member of the Home Theatre Forum for over a year but I rarely post. I find that place to be way too active for me. Way too many members and way too many threads for my tastes.

Watched the first scene of The Ring 2 last night, but then took it out to put in The Untouchables. I do that a lot, and it doesn't mean I didn't like it, but it depends largely on my mood.

About an hour into The Untouchables, which was excellent, I put in a football DVD of a game I'd see 3 or 4 times. Don't ask, but I do that too.

Oh I see you are the "I do that" kind....interesting....yes.....yes....

Yes, because everyone on KMC needs to know stuff like that.

I bought that ("The Untouchables"😉, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I do that when I shop though. Come across a great movie for cheap, buy it, and just sit on it incase I watch it and like it, I don't have to run back out and buy it at full price, as opposed to $5 at Pawn America.

Have you got the newer edition?

See Bardock, he's a "I do that" person, too.

Not sure about the newer edition. Whatever Netflix sent me that I've been sitting on since July, that's the one.

He is indeed.....that goes against all precious observations...I might have to start all over again....

i got thiss'n

Haven't seen the movie since '88, so I had forgotten alot.

The movie The Untouchables was very good, but it seemed as if they could have done a little bit more with some of the scenes. I'm talking about the bridge scene and the roof scene, which are two very big scenes. The classic stair/baby stroller scene was magnificent, I might add.

LOL

that was spoofed in one of the naked gun movies.

oh and a question.........

did anyone like the new planet of the apes movie?

i did.

but then again i loved the older version too.

Planet of The Apes 2 disc Set hysterical

Inside joke 😮

I liked the new POTA, but nowhere near as much as the original. I've got the 2 disc sets of both. Hell, the POTA (2001) 2 Disc DVD is out of print, and I got it for $0.75, I think?

Anycrap, ever since joining the Home Theatre Forum, I've already been working on building my DVD library with some insane titles. I bought the 2 disc "True Romance" from one guy for $12/shipped, I'm working on buying both "Flash Gordon" and "Big Trouble in Little China", both OOP, BTILC being a 2 disc set.

I'm lovin' it. Now, I just need to make some more money.

Yes it was.

I'm still on the first scene. I think you're definately onto something with that spoiler statement, Cory.

What is every one like on a Real-Name basis here?

This thread is dying.......cry

Has it ever really been alive, though?
