Defenders!

๐Ÿ˜‚ I read Defenders v3 #1 and it is the funniest stuff EVER. You gotta buy it. I will now post some scans because I have to, so if you haven't read the comic, don't click them:

I hope those scans have made you buy it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bruce to Namor:"So, did you ever find nemo, or did you just stop looking?"

Namor's answer was best:

"If I knew what that meant, I would kill you where you stand!"

I really thought that Hulk and Namor would get along. Both are hated by human society...

Strange has pretty nasty left hook. ๐Ÿ˜„

And Strange to Namor: "I have been told twice today that I speak in somewhat...melodramatic manner...it is nice to know that I am not alone."

"way down, below the ocean...."

FUNNY AS ALL HELL.....COMIC OF THE WEEK FOR SURE!!!!!!

Agree.

Namor and Hulk really seem to hate each other...

I hate the art with a passion, and I hate the humor. I'd much rather see a serious, deep Defenders, than this.

not a big lover of the art style myself... but i love the humour... i haven't read any of the series yet but you may have prompted me to start.... pity i visited my local comic-tarium this afternoon before i read this

(patent pending on "Comic-tarium"๐Ÿ˜‰

Shame, I think that the interactions between the characters (especially Hulk and Namor) are the best part in Defenders.

Oh, I enjoy the interactions, but it seems to me that Marvel is just trying to push humor into as many of their comics as possibly nowadays. To me, the Defenders should represent the most powerful, and most clashing, team of heros in the Marvel roster. Namor is the polar opposite of Surfer, while he has a kinship with Strange, is constantly at war with Banner/Hulk. Hulk is the polar opposite of Strange, and is pretty much the seperated one from the group. etc. etc. etc.

I think I'm going to open up a new store.......THE COMIC-TARIUM.

Of course I'm right. I rule somethin' fierce.

If it's done by Giffen and DeMatteis you should know what to expect. It's going to be a humor book. In this instance, I don't think it's Marvel pushing for humor, it's just the writer's and artist's style. They were responsible for the recent "It's not the Justice League" arc or whatever in JLA: Classified.

I enjoyed it and thought it was very well done, but I agree it's not for everyone. I think some of the problems with the original Defenders series is that it took itself too seriously, so, for me, it's nice to see Giffen and DeMatteis poke fun at these characters.

For fans of Drax, Giffen is doing a limited series on him later this year, from the sounds of it, it'll be a bit more serious than the Defenders, but probably a good share of yucks in it too.

Anyway, I just like that Namor has major role in SOME comic.

He should really get his own series.

They've been talking about getting Namor majorly involved in Marvel for awhile now, it just hasn't panned out yet. They seem to be promising lots of new stuff post-House of M, maybe Namor will be showing up more often.

Yeah, its great. I actually buy the interaction between (is it) Bruce (or Hulk) and Namor. Despite the similarity of their experiences both of them are bad asses and seen as rivals because of the similarity of their powerset.

Also, is it just me or did Dormammu already begin the obliteration of his army that the Defenders will continue?

Well, even in the first Defenders series there were tons of humor and wacky circumstances. Wasn't very serious at all.

Hell, the most memorable parts were when Hulk gets Strange's cape and starts flying around pretending to caste spells, he even was trying to do Strange's finger placement.

"Hulk is sorcerer supreme now! Hulk smash with magic!", he wore the thing for like two days refusing to give it back, Strange was forced to ride on his shoulders.
