Anakin is called "Master" in the movie..

In the scene where Anakin goes to the Jedi Temple and is about to wipe out the younglings with his saber, the kid who comes forth says, "Master Skywalker, there are too many of them..." or something to that effect. But Anakin has not been granted the title of Master by the council. So why does the kid say this? Or is it just a respect thing, that all younglings call any Jedi who is older "Master"?

Just jedi respect....

Same with QGJ in E1 and Obi in E2, jedi refer to eachother as master.

Respect thing, I suppose; not all Jedi refer to one another as Master.

Hopefuls, Younglings, and Padawans all refer upwards to Knights and Masters as 'Master.'

Knights refer to Masters as 'Master.'

Masters refer to other Masters as 'Master.'

Rex refers to me as "Master" 😛

And you refer to me as "Supreme Overlord of the Galaxy," so hah! 😛

OH yeah? Well, you refer to me as Lord, so Hah hah! 😛

Nope, can't change that now, Master! 😛

HAH HAH HAH! You DO call me master! And Padme calls me master sometimes too..*Koff*

And you can all refer to me as Emperor Matreid.

I will now reorganize this board to the first ever Galactic Empire!!!!

Muahahahahahha!!! 😐

Except, this time, there is no thunderous applause.

Dang. I suck.

Respect.

It is a term of address between any Jedi to a senior Jedi or from a member of Joe Public to a Jedi.
Master Jedi does not = Jedi Master.

So, 3PO calls Luke "Master Luke" in ANH, doesn't he?
Does his make Luke a Jedi Master?

All droids call their owners master. HK-47 for instance. Well, sorry, not every droid. The 4 IG-88 models *Shudders* Killed their masters upon awakening.

It's a term of respect. Next.

Respect.

I noticed that too, what should he have called him "Jedi Anniken" ?
a bet he called him "fooking anniken" when he was about to get chopped up.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T you gottafind out what it means to me. (Or sumthing like that) Lol

That makes a ton of sense and actually cleared up my confusion! Thanks! thumbsup
