Hercules vs Thanos

Hercules (at full demi-god power, from the #200-300 avengers issues)

VS

Thanos (No Infinity Gauntlet, Heart of the Universe, or Soul Gems)

This is a brawl, a hand to hand ONLY battle, therefore, Thanos cannot shoot Hercules with any sort of projectiles or blasts and vice versa. Although, Thanos is allowed to charge his fists with energy, and Hercules is allowed to to use his mace, though as a striking weapon only.

Alot of people may think Thanos would win this, but i doubt it. Personally, i think Hercules would hand Thanos his ass on a silver platter. I firmly believe this because Hercules ripped apart TERMINUS!The same Terminus who nearly took down the entire JLA and defeated the combined forces of the Avengers (without Herc) and Fantastic Four.
So i think Herc would whup Thanos, but i just wana see what everyone else thinks?

So who does everyone else think would win this?

if Thanos is amping his powers herc can't do much.

Thanos fought Thing and Thor at the same time and fought them off. Who cares how strong Hercules is supposed to be? Thanos is stronger.

Even Peter David (arguably the most popular Hulk writer -- wrote Hulk for 12 years) said, quote:

Weight class, not strength class. Thanos still owns.

Thanos is also an expert martial artist. He trained Gamora.

Um, no. Strength class. He is essentially saying that Thanos is in a class by himself.

The Professor Hulk was around during that period. He's about as strong as Thor or Herc. Thanos never displayed strength on par with or above every incarnation of Hulk.

The same Peter David has said that Savage Hulk has no limits to how strong he can become. Contradictory?

One, read The Infinity War and come back.

Two, he is referencing base strength. Not contradictory at all.

Three, Death augmented Thanos.

Four, Thanos can "sythesize" the Power Cosmic (like Surfer) to augment his strength also.

But back to base strength.

Re: the fight with Hercules, even without the IG Thanos still has his eye beams and other energy properties -- and don't forget about matter manipulation. Hercules is so far out of his element it is not funny.

edit -- just saw that he canNOT shoot eye beams. Not sure what the point of charging his fist would be then. Cosmic circle jerks?

Of course Thanos is stronger than Hulk at his base, if he can slap around Prof Hulk, Herc, Thor, and Thing simultaneously. In his Savage incarnation, at base, Hulk's about Thor's level.

Thanos can augment his strength, but not as easily and efficiently as Hulk can, and he doesn't have a limitless source of power. Hulk does.

Ultimately, Hulk is stronger.

Hulk's strength is not limitless. It is virtually limitless.

And who said Hulk was not "ultimately stronger?"

Hercules could attack while Thanos was on the shitter after a bean burrito marathon, and Thanos would still take it.

Like limitless. Is that actually limitless, or just almost limitless.

The virtually, or the like, indicate that, at some point, Hulk will reach the apex of his strength. He's almost limitless, but not quite. No one can quite gauge his limit, because it's so far off the charts, but at some point, he hits a glass ceiling. Capisce?

Incorrect. Hulk doesn't have a maximum output of strength. His strength continues to increase without ever stopping. His strength is 'non-finite', because it increases forever without end.

"Somehow Bruce Banner has been seperated from the Hulk." That's not the case anymore, is it?

Hulk exercised no control when separated from Banner. That's the only major difference aside from the fact that, he was dying. Hulk's power source is there whether he's separated from Banner or not. Hulk's power (along with about 1000 pounds of blood, muscle, and bone) come from a pocket universe of infinite power. Hulk's strength is only limited by how much power he can draw from that source.

Hercules loses like others on his level would.

And even SH lasts more due to the rage increase i dont see him winning either. Thanos has been written so beyond the Marvel top tier even pre powered up that doesnt give many chances.
