old western I think

I am looking for the name of an old western I think its a western.
there are a group of people trying to get a boat over a mountain to the ocean. one man gets really sick and the group leaves the man to die with a bible. The man lives and goes after the others. if some one knows the name of that movie please lat me know It has been driving me crazy thanks a lot Taylor.

The movie is called "Man in the Wilderness" with Richard Harris. He did not just get sick ,he was attacked by a bear and they thought he was dead so they left him.
