A dog could turn into a cat, that makes them the same, just like when a child becomes an adult, they're both humans.
The only kind of evolution i believe makes sense is MicroEvolution, Macroevolution leans on things which are not 100% proven, like the date of the universe.
Still, Microevolution doesn't mean we came from monkeys.

We never "came" from monkeys, at one time, we were an animal that would have been classified as a monkey. A monkey is a modern animal, a long time ago there was an animal that was both monkey and ape, and then it split to become monkeys and apes. This is the hand of God at work.
