He is scattered throughout the Dune Sea after the sail barge exploded.

I wonder if anyone on the top deck of the barge abandoned ship before it went thermal? Even if they did, I guess surviving the Dune Sea is a tall order.

In the EU he wasn't on the Sail barge/or he survived it. But when he got to Jabbas Palace the monks who used to live there took his brain.
