2) How powerful was he/she

3) Why was many Sith Lords named after him?

2) Most powerful Sith Lord outside of Hord, Kun, Ragnos, and perhaps Sadow, IMO.

3) Don't know, probably just tradition.

Maybe the Sith call themselves Darth just like the Jedi call themselves Master. Master Yoda, Master Windu, Master Kenobi and so on.
