It could be the art style too. I like Michael Turner's females, eg, and they aren't especially voluptuous. But I do especially like, eg, Boris Vallejo's work.
I also do agree somewhat with Herriot: any size/shape woman can be dynamite...with the right attitude. Even in a comic heroine, the right facial expression can turn her into a sexual dynamo w/o appearing slutty. For example, I love when Powergirl has that "Ain't no one bigger than me," look. 😉
