He can and he does, read LOE. His circuitry and programming allow him to. he wouldn't have survived so many duels otherwise. And Canderous can beat Grievous in melee? Don't think so. it's a vague possibility, but I HIGHLY doubt it. Glentract, you seem to underestimate the General. A simple shot to the chest? Obi-Wan barely had time to grab onto GG's chest plates before the general chucked him off of the platform, pulling out the plates in the action.
I never have liked him. I think he is stupid. A droid Jedi killer? Doesn't make sense. Anyone who can take a Jedi should be living. I haven't liked the idea of clones fighting droids that much in general(the clone wars aren't as cool as I thought they would be after ep4). There's no emotion or anything. Clones(basically living robots) vs. droids. No REAL fighting. He was just there to make GL money. Coughing? He's a droid. He cant cough.
Canderous has fought Jedi a lot. He has probably killed more than Atton being the right-hand-man of the Mandalore Revan killed. Canderous is also one of, if not might my fav. character so there is probably some bias involved.

First, he's part normal, that's why he's a strategist. Second, he coughs cuz he's part Alien.
He probably coughs because the coldness of his suit reminds him of a doctor's office, and he has to fight the urge to turn his head.
Seriously... Like him or hate him, GG is a Star Wars character. Personally, I think the worst thing was hyping the character in the cartoons, only to make him a total wuss in movie.
