best overall comics right now:

1.) Astonishing X-men
2.) Fables
3.) X-men the end
4.) Runaways
5.) Ex Machina
6.) HOM
7.) Captain AmericA

DC has MUCH better writing.

vertigo cm, not dc

DC = asscheeks

SORRY. BUT THAT's MY OPINION.

What about Wildstorm? They have Authority. And aren't both Vertigo and Wildstorm property of DC?

what i meant was dc mainstream is not as good as vertigo and wildstorm

IMO,:

1. Vertigo
2. Marvel
3. Wildstorm
4. DC mainstream
5. Darkhorse
6. Image
7. Devil's due

just my opinion, so dont bash on me

Writing.....................never judge a comic by its glossy, fight scene cover................... cos the cool fight scene aint inside the comic!

I'll buy a book with a sub par story if the art is good, but if the art is lousy I won't.

If I wanted to read without enjoying illustrations along with it I'd read a novel.

DC has the better writing, marvel has the "wow" factor.

Without words you have a poster book

Without pictures you have a novel

Usually, great writing with average/bad art can still become classics. But while a book with great art and substandard story will sell, it won't be remembered in the long run.

Morlock Massacre had pretty bad art, but it is now one of the most remembered X storylines...........apart from the Dark Phoenix story and maybe one or two others.............
