Pre-Crisis Superman would have laughed at their pathetic try to convince him to not kill them all. Then he would have slaughtered every citizen in most bizarre and painful ways (and had sex with Sue). Then he would have returned back in time and kill them again (and had sex with Sue again). Then he would have broken the gates of Heaven and Hell, kill God and Satan, and returned every people he has killed back to life. So he could kill them again.
