It's most likely Namor.
Only time will tell if this Mark Guggenheim (writer) knows Namor...or will he succumb to fanboys too...?
Well, I am glad he is appearing SOMEWHERE.
If anything comics have shown us that a defeat can be just as impressive as a victory. If Logan manages to survive a tussle with the avengeing son it would be a good notch in his belt.
If he manages to defeat somone so clearly greater than him than I will loose some respect for marvel.
But if he gets torn apart and lives? That would be sweet. 😈
Originally posted by DarkCrawlerThanks alot. Having just pretty much completed my Aquaman collection, i'm on the look out for Namor stuff now. This'll help.
His solo series from 1992, issues #26-#40, mostly written by Bob Harras and penciled by Jae Lee. Best Namor stuff ever.Marvel Knights 4 #8 & #9.
Marvels(Not much Namor, but when he appears, one of the best scenes are from there).
Tales of the Marvels: Inner Demons #1.
New Avengers Illuminati.
If you want older reads, I would recommend his 1969 series, at least the twenty or so first issues. Great reads, even though they are old. Tales to Astonish #100-#101 are very good read. And the definitive issues from 80's are his two miniseries, first the four issue "Prince Namor: The Sub-Mariner" it has really deep story which makes Namor reconsider his ways of ruling his kingdom. Then the Saga of the Sub-Mariner, twelve issue miniseries which tells Namor's story to the point where his 1990 series starts.
Thanks. 🙂
Here are the specs of Trident:
"Weapons: Neptune wields a 6' 5'' enchanted trident made for him by the Cyclopes, one-eyed giants who were trapped in Tartarus along with Neptune by Cronus (see comments). The trident is composed of Adamantine metal that is found in the Olympian dimension and is possessed of mystical properties. The trident allows Neptune to control any body of water. With the trident he is capable of the creation of water elementals, using water to speed ships and water vehicles, creating fog and storms of great intensity, causing tremendous tidal waves, and creating waves of water as transportation that propel him at fantastic speeds. Also, he can cause earthquakes by increasing water pressure."
In my continuing quest to find Namor stuff from net, I have once again turned my attention to Newsrama forums. So here is all the stuff where Namor has been mentioned...you see that there are more then few people who would want to see him in comics...
First thread:

Joe reguarding the civil war registration is this a american thing or a world thing and if so what about other races, Inhumans, Atlantians, Eternals, Deviants, Im looking at Blackbolt & Namor on the cover of New Avengers Illuminati, Im thinking spin offs, BLACKBOLT, NAMOR, IKARIS,KRO, all great characters who deserve a chance in the spotlight. Oh yeah one more thing any chance of Idelchatter San Digo World Con 2006 it could happen make it so PLEASE.
Onto a question though..........
The Inhumans and Eternals are mutated versions of humans much like "regular" mutants. Namor is a mutant Atlantean due to his wings. Have these characters been considered with Wanda's altering of the Marvel Universe making only 198 mutants?
Joe:Is Annihilation tied into Planet Hulk and Civil War? I would be mightily impressed if you guys could pull this off...
Is the new Alpha Flight tied in any way to the apparent new Avengers book? Bendis was the one who hinted at the second Avengers book, and he's the one who's using Alpha Flight in his own book, so my question isn't totally random.
Any chance for a new Namor book? After his Tsunami and New Invaders outings, I think a nice high-profile launch would do him good...Warren Ellis or JMS could do a great job with it, maybe teamed with Frank Cho, or Pasqual Ferry?]
Yo, Joe!What are the plans for Namor beyond Illuminati/Civil War?
Leinil Yu recently stated here on the boards he was penciling the Punisher one-shot that Mark Guggenheim initially pitched. Any idea when we'll see that?
Any other plans for literary adaptations, ala the upcoming Poe mini?
What does Garth Ennis have planned besides the Western Ghost Rider?
Defenders: Have you considered the following:1. What made the original Defenders (Strange, Surfer, Hulk, Namor) unique are several factors:
a. They were all loners.
b. They were all the most powerful [humanoid] representatives of the supernatural, space, earth and ocean.
c. They were all arrogant and yet they all worked together as a team.
d. They came together in times of crisis due to Yandroth's curse.I am sorry they didn't make sense to you, but they made perfect sense to me!
And there is at least one good reason for Namorita to die. 🙁
http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69363&highlight=Namor
Namorita's dead? I figured she would be able to survive that explosion the way she let on. Wow. Nitro better run and hide. Namor's going to DESTROY him to the point where he won't reconstitute.
I thought Speed had survived, but Googling "she-hulk #8 speedball" resulted in a "However, in She-Hulk #8, Speedball is among the three New Warriors on the paper, which may have meant he died in the conflict." I disagree with this theory and think it means he's one of the three being sued. I just doubt you could sue Namorita - no mailing address, or possible dip. immunity. Speedball will re-constitute himself. Who the hell cares about the others? And you need a dead cousin to drive Namor batty - he's not going to freak out over Microbe.
Many people also hope that Namor is the one who brings Nitro to justice...

About 86 years. (He was born on 1920)

Who is really the first mutant because since Apocalypse is over 5000 years old I thought he was the first.
Apocalypse isn't the first mutant either, Selene, and Saul are much older then he is. Apocalypse is the third I believe.
But Namor is the first mutant ever to be published in comics, although the term "mutant" as a different race (Homo Sapiens Superior) was established later. Namor probably has some latent mutant genes from his fathers side.
As for who is first mutant in continuity, I think the list goes like this:
Selene
Saul (dead now though)
Apocalypse
----Dozens of mutants which are believed to be demons etc.
Namor

Okay... so previously I've made fun of Namor.
I have to now point out how wrong I was!
I just read New Avengers Illuminati (Finally) and have developed more respect for namor than I thought possible!
He is not only a man of action. But he is a man who wears his emotion on his sleeve and tells EVERYONE his opinion! This is something the heroes don't tend to appreciate. But at least they will ALWAYS know where he stands, unlike some untrustworthy F*CKS!
I hope he rips off Iron Mans mask and throws him in the water again.. I can't DESCRIBE how pumped I got when I saw that!
Originally posted by Blood_RayneI made it. It's really outdated, though. 🙂

I liked it how he was the only one to stand up for Hulk, despite their differences in past.

that was one of the biggest things that made me respect him, in actuallity. He was able to look beyond their past squabbles and looked out for Hulk! That gave me a tremendous respect!
I hope everything I had said badly about him is over between us now, DC... You are right, Namor truly is someone to respect.

This might turn out very good😱...or very bad...🙁
If they fight underwater and Wolverine has ANY chance at all...it's the most badly written piece of comic ever.
What I like though, is that they at least acknowledge that Namor is Marvel's first mutant...
