I'm almost certain Thor needs to breathe since strange had to put a spell on him for that in Infinity Gauntlet...so I would figure he would need some kind of enhancement since there is no breathable air in the sun.

"Atlantean Attacks" storyarc. A chapter written by Roy Thomas and draw by Al Milgrom. He asks Gaea to help them (Strange, Quasar and Thing) against Seth. She says she cant and he transports itself to the Demiurge`s "lair" wich is the sun.
Cant tell the exact issue, i have this in a portuguese TPB of the saga. Its the last chapter before the conclusion when they set free the marvel heroines that wer imprisioned to be used as brides for Seth.
This was around the year 89/90 maybe? If anyone can tell the issue, feel free to shoot.

It was Thor annual 10, where he went into the core of the sun. Thor awoke his half-brother atum asking him to battle along side against Set the elder god.

false? you saw the scans, right? and that WAS current death-upgraded thanos. he just didn't have the gem. which he also doesn't have for this fight.

huh? this is meaningless drivel, kg, you know it. the old 'my character never goes all out' card is a ridiculous one to play. are you saying he wasn't really 'trying' to survive the blasts? supes actually has self-imposed mental restrictions that prevent him from going all out and using 'killing' force. if anyone never uses 'full power', it's supes.

why do you keep comparing superman to drax? first, you DO know he doesn't have the gem, right? i'm also pretty certain he's not 'dumb' anymore and that he has also been depowered recently, though i'm not sure how much power he lost. maybe someone could help out. if he's back to classic drax, THAT drax could only lift 40 tons!
and even if he WASN'T/ISN'T depowered, what evidence are you citing that makes you think his durability is greater than superman's if he doesn't have the gem?? you talk about drax like he's odin. drax is strong but supes would OWN him. if he's strong enough to stand with supes physically, he's stupid and supes would eaily find a way to beat him by out-thinking him. if he's smart, supes is way stronger. either way he loses. badly. with the gem he'd have a chance - though it did him next to no good against thor who took it from him pretty easily and was giving him a beating even WHILE drax still had it.

he nees tech to survive under water as well. hercules is the same way. guess the lack of air can't kill herc, but it probably could render him unconscious or something. never really understood what would happen if herc 'drowned'. thor, since he's not a 'true' immortal, probably COULD die from lack of air i suppose. don't know for sure though.
