He is doing something that -could- possibly be disturbing to others in the household, including those who own it.

He left his door unlocked. ANYONE could have walked in, not just her.

He was caught, redhanded (Pardon the pun, again) and if he gets in trouble for it, he'll either learn his lesson and be discreet or he'll end up on bad terms with those he lives with. It's an issue of respect, not is it okay.
