Both Marvel and Orion have stalemating him. Orion even had to dose his power the first time he fought a mindcontrolled Superman in order to not to kill him.

i get your point val -- i'd mostly agree. i just think it's ludicrously close between cm, herc, thor, orion, black adam and ww. too close to call, really. only one i think is above the others for sure is supes.

it implies a strength advantage, however. i don't think an advantage was shown in either favor. one can gain an advantage with skill that may APPEAR to be overpowering. that's what i'd say this was.

I agree that Orion had a harder time. He did beat him in Orion #5 iirc but was having more troubles than Superman had. One can thank Simonson for that for showing Darkseid a capable big gun and skilled at that again, instead an idiot who hides, breakes a farmhouse and shots Superman.
Out of that he has one stalemate against a mind controlled Superman and another brief one against a...well an " all out" Superman if i can call it that. A pretty good record.

Hercules appeared in Ares #2...I didn't think that was part of normal 616 continuity...

I belive it is. So far at least. Hes been shown as quite skilled. He and Hercules seem to be the only capable olympians to fight that phanteon.

Its Zeus and the like that seem weaker and tired. Not to mention older.
