Aight I'll even admit that this is not a fight Wolverine would win...unless he was close enough to tear him to shreds. And unless Wolverine could cut through the rings power.

But, these rings have proven to be sentient. And they also have proven to be on guard, and doing stuff, even when the person is preoccupied with something else, and not paying attention. Like, preprogramming the rings to keep on guard.
So, there would be no sneaking up.
