Though really, the 'good old days' have been over for about a year....

Last summer was full of idiocy on here like this, though, too. Hopefully once school starts again things will settle back to normal.

I think it's just because people are bored and out of school and have nothing better to do. It calmed down last year once school started back up and I'm sure it will again this year.
