The Judgment of Celestial II
World War III was something no one would forget. It all started when North Korea invaded South Korea. It started as a minor war but soon eclipsed into a third world war. China helped North Korea and the United States helped out South Korea. With those two super powers other nations soon picked sides. Britain, France, and Japan joined with the United States. Germany, Russia, and Iran joined with China. The third world war exploded in the midst of Europe where most of the fighter occurred.
After five years of fighting the war was over. Millions were killed but in the end a new birth of peace erupted. All nations served one flag; the United Nations of Earth. One hero that served for the USA emerged from the ashes named Sefirah. It was said by many that Sefirah killed one hundred men in one minute. He was an excellent general who led his troops bravely and without fear. Sefirah’s mind and war tactics was second to none. After the war he became leader of Wolf Squadron Alpha.
Three years later Wolf Squadron Alpha consisting of; Sefirah, Adam O’Donnell, and Jack O’Neil headed for Jack’s hometown of Jacksonville. They were there to examine a reactor said to have malfunctioned. No one knew what happened but Adam was found dead beside the ruins of the reactor. Sefirah was said to have been inside and no trace of his body was found. Jack was the only one to have survived.
Jack left for Brooklyn where he found work there as a delivery boy but something about his past worries him…and something about Project: Chaos which Professor Hipkins was working on still riddles his minds with questions. A strange power is growing.

GANTZ forces them to participate in what at first appears to be a reality game show, in which they hunt aliens who are secretly living among us. GANTZ provides them with strength enhancing-skinsuits, guns, and radar. Each participant has a miniature explosive implanted in their brains that prevents them from wandering outside the designated area, much like the explosive collars in the series Battle Royale. The designated area is roughly one square kilometer; if the participants cross this boundary or tell anyone of the secrets of GANTZ and the apartment, the explosive will detonate. Curiously, it appears that this trigger only works when the player talks to someone about it, as Nishi developed a web site with written reports of his missions and apparently no harm was done to him because of it.
Those who are killed by the aliens die for good. If they manage to survive the mission, however, they return to the room in perfect health (even if they were nearly dead, missing limbs, etc). GANTZ then tallies individual scores based on kills and sets them free, only to have them return to play another time. Points are awarded both according to the number of kills achieved by the player and by the equipment used by the player. On two occasions, Kei Kurono is forced to fight without his Gantz Suit. On both such occasions, he earned a large number of points, causing some to assert that kills made while suit-less are worth double points. Some also believe that the live capture of an alien is worth the same as a kill, although there it has been implied in both the manga and the anime that the point reward for a capture is worth less
