Hazmat - The Classified Operations - I
It has been four years since the first outbreak; known as the Delta Contagion across the states and most of the top governments of the world who are now involved in a secretive plot as to why a U.S. city was nuked by it's own military Forces. Reports were faked, and the experiment equipment and files from the underground facility beneath the city destroyed. Or so those who thought they were in the loop were told. Four years since the brave and media published exploits of Jacob, Rek, David, Carlos, Kat and the others, in a secret military research facility in Alaska at these coordinates 61.223032,-149.690496 (punch it into google maps). The facility is hidden within an underground complex shared by these military owned buildings (whether they are in real life or not) near the city of Anchorage, and four miles from Fort Richardson. Here is the story so far. An alarm has been raised from the facility within of some kind of Chemical containment breach, and military Marine-Hazmat teams Bravo and Echo have been dispatched from Bremerton Naval Station in Washington state via chopper, to deal with the problem. They are inbound and will arrive at the base in a little under an hour... Information on the outbreak for the moment is a little sketchy. It has been listed as an escaped contagion gas.
You will be playing one of the Hazmat team members and if you feel up to it; and think you know enough to do it the base personal as well...

So I've heard. If I understand correctly, you used your 'bladeboarding' as part of your strategy?
You could say that.
Well i guess the first step is to describe this sport for us, so that we better understand.
OK - Bladeboarding is a sport derived from old skateboard and hoverboard competitions. In those games, the idea was to score points by performing tricks and stunts. The more difficult, dangerous and impressive the tricks, the more points you scored.
So how is this 'Bladeboard' different?
A Bladeboard is a self propelled hoverboard that can transform into a sword and back. Hence the name 'Bladeboard'.

The control over the Bladeboard is granted by implants in the players heads. Without them, It's impossible to control the board. It also means that the board and the players are connected - Noone can use another players board. They are unique to the player. This is shown by the unique attributes and abilities each player has.
And the game itself?
The game is played by two teams of three. The basics are the same as traditional hoverboard games.
So why the swords?
The first rule of bladeboarding is to -
Never fall off your board.

If you do, you are disqualified. We use the blades to try and knock the opposition off their boards, redsucing their chances of scoring more points. If all three teammates are knocked off they automatically lose.
But these are swords we're talking about right? Not clubs or -
Trust me, we are well protected. Each player much wear specially designed armor. Light as a feather, but as harder than diamond. Also, the chips in our head can control the power of our swing in an emergency.
You can get pretty bruised up, but you ain't in any real danger.
I see. And how exactly are players 'unique' when you all have an equal chance of removing eachother from the competition?

It was the Grand Finale.

The world championship. We had just won. I was standing there, holding the cup in my hands, like a dream come true. That's when they attacked.
The Zolar.
We didn't know what the hell they were at the time. All I was thinking is "Sh*t! Alien Invasion!"
We didn't hear the explosions, what with all the noise the cowd was making. Only when they starting attacking nearby buildings did we know what was going on.[/color]
What happened then?
Well, everyone panicked. Running, screaming, rushing for the exits. We were completely forgotten. I was standing there, frozen, holding my life's ambition in my hands. Ziggy had to hit me over the head with his board before I came to my senses. The Zolar started attacking the arena itself. Their lasers were cutting through everything... Everyone...
And after that, you decided to fight back?
It was Romean's idea.
I wasn't gonna let no f*cking aliens kill us! I got on my board and started shooting fire at them. Bam! Bam!
Did that help?
It stopped them from firing, that's for sure. I don't think they were expecting a single person on a hoverboard fighting back.
What did they do then?
They started talking to us. They Broadcasted all over the city.
We already have a record of that. You don't need to tell us what they said.
I didn't feel like repeating it, to be honest.
And that's when Metro's Security forces arrived?
Yes, they saw Romean attacking the Zolar. On a limb, I think, they asked for our help.
Was there anyone else there at the time?
Our teams techie, Joe He couldn't come in today - He got grazed by one of the alien's lasers. He's at the medcenter.
There were also the guys we beat.
The other Bladeboard team?
I went and asked for their help. They agreed, grudgingly. Together we called as many Bladeboarders as we could. We flew around the city on our boards and helped Security rescue anyone who was trapped.
That was a brave act.
We're being invaded! I felt that we needed to do our part. I still do.
