The last day or so has brought some major news on the casting of the Omen remake, Omen 666 which will be released on 06 / 06 / 06.

Liev Schreiber will take on the role made famous by Gregory Peck with Julia Stiles taking over the role played by Lee Remick. A few good choices I think. Both are strong actors and I can see them in those roles.

Tonight brought news of the casting of Damian. Although it has not be completely confirmed it is being reported widely on the web that Josh Hutcherson from Kicking and Screaming and The Polar Express will take over the reigns as the son of Satan.

I bet nightmare on elm street is next to be remade. I watched the omen last night and it can't possibly be any better with out becoming a slasher film which it is not meant to be.

The trailer for this creeps me out.

The trailer looks so dumb.

The trailer looks like a carbon copy of the original. Like Gus Van Sant's horrible Psycho remake.

While Hollywood does go for the wallet, you need to understand that the younger generation probably have not actualy ever watched a good scary movie. EVER. The one's who's first taste of a "scary" movie being Scream...ugh, anyway my point is remakes are good. For society. They bring the old and sometimes forgoten movies to the forefront. They make you want to watch the old ones to see where they came from. For example, I had never watched the Hills Have Eyes until I heard they were making a new one...so i watched it..and loved it. I believe honestly there is a place for remakes in the world of ours.

how can they run out of idea's i see a bunch of new movies they wanna make it seems they wanna make the stupid BS movies and other movies like remakes but never a new thing like phantasms end, or what about that movie alice the adaptation of the video game they could make that one and pray it doesnt suck i mean all horror movies are ok some really suck some are watchable the point is that there new, i think they make remakes just to see who will go watch them and try to make alot of cash there isnt anything about oh we dont know what to do DERR just wana be lazy

Well, some may have lazieness to blame, but compare the remakes to the NEW ones they are coming out with....ie Sliver? Some of this new stuff is just fodder. I would much rater watch a remake of the classics. A genuinely new idea for a horror flick only come out every now and again. We all know that.

I think B horror films are better than any new BS that gets hyped up to the sky and remakes are just shit.

I know it never ends.First KinG Kong,NOW this crap.Im sick of it. 😠 I mean the first one was so good,why try and top it? 😠 also its not going to have the same kind of impact on moviegoers it had on moviegoers back then.back thenmoviegoers were not prepared for that kind of stuff,now moviegoers have been exposed to so much of that stuff its nothing new to them. 🙄
