It really doesn't make any sense unless you've read the book. They leave out JKR's beautifully crafted plot in favor of special effects and action sequences.

And it was a lot more comical than dark. it was supposed to be dark.

the 3rd movie was much more dark than this one, and I agree...JK has been making her books more and more dark, but the movies aren't reflecting that as brilliantly as she did.

-nods- Exactly. They're trying to keep them as a kids story, when they really aren't. They are supposed to be dark.

And its a pity that a film company/director is willing to leave out the beautiful cinematography and scripting that JKR's books deserve just because the average cinema audience would rather see humor, hot guys, and action sequences.
