meh ... being bored and doing french and science hmwk... 🙁 history sucks ... im takin that in summer skewl

science is fun!
so long as it isn't chem that is

arg no ... science is impossible ... im failing! 🙁

what kind of science is it?

gr nine science ... about everything o.O ... we're learning elements rite now =S

ah, chem.

yupyup ... and its impossible 😖

what is it you're trying to figure out

im doing a project on Xenon ... and its ... CONFUSING

did you google it
what confusing about it?

one of the questions i have ta answer is:
Is it a metal, non-metal, or metalliod? What group does it belong to?
i have no idea whut that means

and i have no idea whut ioms and isotopes are.

well, the area of the periodic table it's on will tell you if it's a metal.
ion is an atom or group of atoms that carries a positive or negative electric charge as a result of having lost or gained one or more electrons.
isotope is one of two or more atoms having the same atomic number but different mass numbers.

🤨 whut does that mean?

when an atom loses electrons to another atom, or gains electrons, it becoms and ion.
and isotope is where you have to atoms that have the same atomic number have a different mass.
and also, Xenon is a colorless, odorless, highly unreactive gaseous element found in minute quantities in the atmosphere, extracted commercially from liquefied air and used in stroboscopic, bactericidal, and laser-pumping lamps. Atomic number 54; atomic weight 131.29; melting point -111.9°C; boiling point -107.1°C; density (gas) 5.887 grams per liter; specific gravity (liquid) 3.52 (-109°C).

hmm ... lemme think about that one 😖
