I'm bored....
So here are some names of the Sun and Moon in Quenya and Sindarin! 😉
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
√a-nár-: An extension via-ómataina, (that is “vocalic-extension”), of the stem-root √nar-, which meant “Fire, Flame,” (also simply √anár-).
•PQ., *a-nār-,† “(the) Flame,” (a name of the Sun) → PQ/CE., ¤anār-: Q., Anar, (but still #Anár-†† in compounds, as in the name Anárion); OS., Anaur††† → S., Anor.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
√i-thíl-: An extension via-ómataina of the stem-root √thil-, (also quoted in the form √sil-), which meant “(To) Shine Silver,” (also simply √ithíl-).
•PQ., *i-thīl-,‡ “(the) Sheen,” (a name of the Moon) → PQ/CE., *ithīl, or *ithil: Q., Isil, (but still *Iþil‡† in the Vanyarin dialect); OS., Ithīl‡†† → S., Iþil.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
√ur: This stem-root meant "Heat," and also "Be Hot."
•PQ/CE., *ūri, "Heat," (also a name of the Sun): Q., úrë, (but #úri- in compounds, as in Úrimë, the Quenya name for August), also Úri as a proper name; OS., *ūre → S., Ûr.
•PQ/CE., *ūrindē, "She who is Hot," (a name of the Sun): Q., Úrin, (but #Úrind- in compounds, as in the longer-form Úrindë; OS., *ūrinde → S., Úrin.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
† - This form, (*a-nār-), is not explicitly stated in Tolkien.
†† - Cf. Helge Fauskanger's discussion in his Evolution from Primitive Elvish to Quenya.
††† - This form is quoted in Sauron Defeated.
‡ - The ancestral forms here quoted are unattested.
‡† - This is based off of the assumption that the Quenya and Sindarin words for "Moon" both descended from √thil- and not from √sil-.
ࠠ - This form is likewise unattested, but is suggested in Didier Willis' Sindarin Dictionary.
