ooooh...what was the reason for the holding up?
Well...good thing he only wanted money..I mean imagine if he started asking for Nachos and refills of Popcorn! 😱
I don't mean to kid, for I am sure it was a scary moment...and I too worked at a movie theatre, so that realizism is there for me.
Just try and stay staff...giving in and doing what they want is always the right thing to do.

Haha...well we all thought he was joking. so we were like "dude, stop playing. we'll kick you out. are you going to order anything or not?"its amusing to think about it now.
When I worked for McDonalds when I was younger, we always joked about getting held up. We couldn't open the register unless they ordered something. 😂
Robber: "Give me all your money!"
Employee: "Sorry, but I can't open my register unless you order something"
Robber: "Fine then...give me a number 3, Supersize that, and toss in a apple pie"
Employee: "Okay, your total comes to $6.45" ( awaits payment from Robber )
Robber: "Oh, okay...hold on" ( pulls out wallet and hands employee a $10
Employee: "Okay, your change is $3.55, let me get your food for you ( closes money drawer ). "oh darn...you wanted to rob me, right? Now you will have to order something else!"
Hahahaha. That's awesome. Yeah, this was a pretty lame robber. But we can open our money-drawers without them ordering. And he came inside the buidling and into the box office room and the poor girl in there had just started working there and she's only like...15 and it was her like 3rd day. And of course her boyfriend was between her and the robber...so she just pulled the drawer out and gave him all the money. Except the change...he didn't want that apparently.
But when he left box (we hadn't seen what happened) and came over to the concsssion stand we just laughed at him and it was pretty amusing. This guy, Drew, was just like "I'm not giving you my money, dude. Chill out and go mess around somewhere else".
Our manager came down after he'd left and called the police and all that jazz. And when she called our general manager all he said was "damn it. how much money did we lose?" didn't even ask how we were. Stupid guy.
