The Third Annual Tig Party!!!!

whoa dudes...I was awoken this morning by a phone call and about 7 text messages.

They were all to say that one of my friends from my school days committed suicide.

Crazy stuff, he was well on the drug scene though and his family life has been a little bit hazy for a year or so, but still....stick it out dude.

such a cowardly way to leave, I feel bad for his twin brother and his mother.

Sometimes you feel that there's no way to get better, death is th only option. While that's not true.. it's easy to see why so many people think this, with how sh*tty the world is.

A lot of the time people who are suicidal know there are choices but find death easier to deal with than (stuff going on in their) life.

It's not cowardly to them. It's basically euthanasia, to the misery/pain/depression/etc.

regardless, I still disapprove of it.

I don't much think people willing to commit suicide care whether or not we approve of it. Unfortunately, they're so far gone....well, I've never met a person willing to commit suicide who could be deterred from said act - although, admittedly, I've only known one person who committed suicide....

Like Melcórë said, they aren't looking for your approval Maika, they're looking for a way out. Death seems much easier to deal with than living.

It takes a lot of empathy for someone (who sees it as selfish, cowardly, dishonourable, etc) to understand it. People shouldn't take it for face value, as that would seriously undermine that persons intelligence and wisdom.

I don't think it's always about death being "easier". I mean, I've been pretty far down that road, and what it finally took to bring me back was one of my friends attempting, and eventually succeding in commiting suicide because then I realized how it affects those around us, even those who we assume don't care. And I'm the type of person who couldn't knowingly hurt another human being if I tried. So yeah, enough of that.

But my point is- I understand it completly, I really do. But I don't like it. In the end, the only think achieved by it is hurt one all sides, and there's enough hurt in the world as it is.

Well I don't know what your situation was, Elessea, but I've been suicidal also, many, many times, and for me death did seem easier to cope with than living in my situation/s. But I guess everyone's different. Also I know that when someone feels that bad they lose perspective and it seems like the only option when really there's more.

It's one of those situations where you wish you knew what to say, but you don't becuase there is nothing to say to make it any better and "I'm Sorry" is just irritating.

But anyway, Discos, hope things start cheering up on your end soon.

"I'm Sorry" never really seems to cover it really, but then you can never really think of anything else to say, so "I'm sorry" is the best you can do eve though you know it won't really help or fix anything but you want to say something, so that's what you say. But I guess sometimes just saying you're sorry can really help

Probably won't be back for a bit. Loooots of work, and going out of town, and then locking myself in my room with the books/movies that I know I'm getting and can't wait for (ie. Hp5, Stardust, Terry Pratchett, etc.)

Actually, the "Annual" Part isn't quite true. The first one came around in 2004. So one in '04, one in '05, and one in '06...and then its just stuck around because it never got big enough to be force-closed.

I went Shopping today (xmas eve) man it was so busy . Hell there was a big fight in a store involving two ladies . They where first swearing then started punching and kicking untill one off them started bleeding !!

There was also a big sale on got some house hold goods and a tea pot lolz

Man I was well wasted last night, it was awesome. Nightclub was open til 4am so me and a friend stayed there till 4 and then I came home and watched the Motley Crue live DVD for an hour, 4th year in a row....great tradition.

almost time for xmas dinner and then a sleep.
