years ago in his limited series..... i can't quite remember why the symbiote had detached itself from him.... i remember one story where it joined with his girlfriend because he told it to (to protect her).... it may have been that story..... i'll look it out tomorrow

Was it in the three part mini Venom: Final? Because that mini should be Hama'ed IMO.
Was it after Spideyman wupped his ass for the bizzilienth time, and Symbiot figured Brock was too much of a wuss to hold on to?
OK, all. I'm here, now... tell LordDreamer what the fuss is about. Hulk, don't call anyone nutswingers, Cresh, don't be an ass. Otay, all better... oh, and I have a pretty damn fine understanding of the laguage, homeboy, trust me. I may be a pimpin switch, but I'm also a smartass dude on scholarship avenue, so... back that... what do you call that? Fine, whatever, just get it, and all of it's little friends, out of my damn site!! Oh, sorry... sight lol...

no, i'm pretty sure it was in an earlier limited series
Ok because the Venom: Final was crap... I mean the symbiot sirgically removed a bomb from Brock's chest... crap, crap, crap
Anyway if Brock was shot with out the symbiot then there was no damage taken by "Venom". Normally bullets would have no effect on someone whereing the symbiot until it was over loaded with damage exposing the host (at which put the symbiot would have the power to heal the host as it is to busy try to protect for continued damage from the attacker). I think Wolverine could over load Venom's damage soak if he can keep Brock in melee combat (and since Brock isn't the smartest fighter that shouldn't be a problem), should be able to pull around 5/10.
If Venom fights smart and sticks to range he should win with out to much trouble.

True, but brock is very clever, and won't let him do too much damage.
Venom does have the priority.
... yea. when all that bad stuff happened to ol borck and he almost died and... oh! the memories are like knives in my mind... I shan't go on...
ok, yes i will. Venom won't need to worry about an overload, since he's better in the melee. He can gorge Wolverine and just generaly rip him to shredds. He is stronger, faster, and, if you don;t mind me saying so, he keeps his head on a bit better (though he knows less about the art of war) than ol Logan. He has all those advantages plus healing plus not needing to heal (funny how that works out, ain't it...)

if Venom wanted to kill Wolverine he would.... all he'd have to do is cover him in either webbing or tendrils to incapacitate him.... then he could do whatever he wanted to him
Yeah Venom could do that... but would he? It seems more likely for Venom to just throw down in a good old fashion slobber knocker with Logan then to stay back and pelt him with webbing.

perhaps.... but he did do it to Spider-Man (webbed him to the inside of a church bell).... plus this has already been posted

but all venom got to do is force some symbioite down wolverines throat and suffocate him right? i mean cant the symbiote regenerate if wolvie cut it up?
no not if it's cut away from the main host...the specimen collected in the venom ongoing title was extraordinary for having done so...

stronger and faster makes a better melee fighter? hmmmmmmmm
