I'm sure. Maybe you're not close to the right ones, or they just don't want to say anything to you about it for that very reason. *shrug*
No, I'm fairly sure that the ones I'm close friends with would know of that sort of thing, and I KNOW that they'd tell me (it wouldn't have been the first time I've been told to warn off a friend for acting like an idiot).
So I just don't think it's as big a problem as you seem to think it is.

Ok then 🙂
BackFire, do you believe that all people who like Rock worship the devil too?
No.
I'm speaking in generalizations, I'm well aware that not every Emo fan fits the stereotype.
However, to put the emo stereotype and the other stereotypes in perspective, I'll tell you this.
When I go to the mall, or any store, I will generally see a good number of people falling under teh emo stereotype. I don't see many people falling under the metal stereotype you brought up, nor the devil worshiping rock stereotype.
This shows me the emo stereotype is far more valid and true then most other stereotypes that exist, at least in America.
I don't see many people who like metal walking around with spikes AND long hair, I don't see many rock fans slaughtering sheeps and drawing pentagrams on their forhead with a fork, I do see a good dozen weezer look-a-likes who have box framed glasses, and purposely messy emo style hair.
Also, lets not forget that I said what I said in a joking manner.

Well the fashion you're seeing isn't neccessarily "emo". It's the wannabe "indie" fashion, first of all. The kind of people who dress out of Urban Outfitters.

Well I give you more credit than to make such a rash generalisation so I did take it in as something other than serious.
I hate blind trend followers whatever trend it is. I don't care for them so I pay no attention to them. What I don't get is this mass hatred toward them.
Why does it warrant such violent feelings?

PVS, dear, you don't know me too well....
I've been a huge metal fan since I was in diapers 😛
Though really it doesn't answer what I asked, which is if someone could tell that I'm a metal fan from how I look.
The answer? Nope.
