This actually happened in like Amazing SM #12 (somewhere really early before he had his own villians). Spidey had the best of the contest but Doom escaped. He had some traps and gimmicks in place, but didn't really do a ton with his prep...but without any prep Doom is, well, doomed.

Are you talking about in a fight Digi, or chess? Cause I don't really think Doom needs prep for chess, lol.

But, in a fight, he doesn't need prep either, and he already smacked Spidey around once. If he was truly determined, you could say goodbye to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
