You can start off with any of the regular pistols (not Magnums!), but you must have a reasonable explanation for why you have it. Remember not every one is a crack shot and no one knows to shoot zombies in the head starting out.

Which Berreta is larger?

Beretta 93R is used by police and Military. Some models of it are Semi auto, but the military versions are automatic or three round bursts. If you start off with this weapon it will be a regular semi auto pistol like the regular Beretta M92.

He was 21 when Umbrella moved in. After the virus got out he lost his wife, parents, and younger siblings to the T-Virus. Karl then was brainwashed by Umbrella Agents and his objective was to take out any Survivor in sight so there wont be a witness here.

Levi is a brain, her intelligence showing through her near perfect grades. Frowned down upon by those envious of her, she's very humble and only voices her opinion to break an awkward silence.

Well of course. he is an Umbrella assassin. Well not really, after they brainwashed him of thinking his is an Assassin his mission is to take down any survivor from the outbreak.
