The Evangelist
This is more like a book I'm working on. I'm thinking of putting it on FictionPress.com. Please don't hold back with your opinions. If you don't like it, tell me why so I can try and fix it.
Prologue
Some people believe in only one god. That only that god exists. Or that only the group of gods that they believe in exists. Those assumptions are dead wrong. All gods exist; God, the Greek Pantheon, the Roman Pantheon, the Egyptian gods; only when no one person is left to believe in a god are they dead or non-existent.
This is true with Satan as well since he is, in a sense, a god. When all belief of Satan is gone from the world, he ceases to exist. But then his minions who, since they are not gods, survive invade the minds of impressionable humans and start a cult or a small group of Satanists. This revives Satan, though he would still be weak and unable to take the world from God, who has believers all over the globe.
But there was one time when Satan had managed to gather enough followers to finally become God’s equal and there was a brutal war. Family members fought each other in the name of their patron gods. Eventually Satan managed to take even more followers from God due to his violent and cruel ways and the threats from his followers to burn any prisoners alive or torture them in unspeakable ways.
When this happened rule over Earth changed hands from God to Satan and Satanism became the dominant religion. After Satan laid foot on Earth he decreed that any people found to be worshipping other gods would be executed and any found worshipping God himself would be tortured for eternity. Few cults for other gods remained after this, but some eluded captivity by hiding out in the ruins of the old Vatican City or living in tunnels deep underground.
Chaos reigned for years and for some Christians all hope was lost. But before God went into hiding, he sent a message to the Pope about a prophecy that would bring about “the final crusade against the ultimate evil.” A holy messenger would be found amongst Satan’s most loyal subjects and would be tested in strength, intelligence, and will on the journey to bring the world back into the light. Many companions would join him in his quest, but in the end he would have to make the most difficult choice in his entire life.
And our story begins…
