Fenris has two forms: that of an animal and one which is anatomical that of a human. Because he is supposedly the God of Animals and guardian of the night (as well as all of its travellers), he will normally use the animal form. The human-like form will probably be used only when he decides to pay respect to the elder gods. That said, the beast form is mutated due to his corrupted state.

Legend speaks of a benevolent creature which roams the night in the guise of an immense wolf. This was said to be the lesser god Fenris, Keeper of the Animals and Guardian of Night travellers. But this tale is but that, a story of old times when darkness did not roam the world so freely. It is a story belonging to the days when the gods walked the earth and conversed with men, days long gone and soon to be forgotten.
The nights are no longer safe, and the forests place man in dire situations. Fenris no longer graces man with his presence and this is not only revealed in his disappearance, but also in the void which fills the wilds after dark. Instead, a new presence has tainted the land. A sinister force which drives away the those Fenris once protected and feeds upon the innocent. None shall survive this beast, though some have returned from close encounters driven out of their minds and rambling on about a great were-beast...

As his dominion is that over the animals and the night, Fenris is skilled with dark magic, and therefore is stronger during the night.
After he was corrupted, he found himself unable to stand the light of the sun and will only venture out into it occasionally. This is mainly because a part of him feels that he has betrayed his former lords and ladies. As it is, his so-called "betrayal" is indeed true as the lesser gods were left awake to guard the world as the elder gods slept.
