fact is.. as a NURSE.. i really would have much rather had less and more preferably NO patients at all & been more than happy to be out of a job due to noone being sick 🙂

I went 3 times a week to visit a friend. He wasnt even supposed to be there. some of them kepst asking for a cigarette. and it WAS ALWAYS ASKING FOR A CIGARETTE !

The nurses just seemes to give the pills and thats it !

As i was saying (cause i was interrupted by someone who urgently needed to send an e-mail) I went about 3 times a week to visit a friend. He wasnt even supposed to be there.

Reason being that he had a cist the size of a small peach removed. After the operation, he could not get back to terms with life. So the Doctors had him check in the Mental Unit.

During the visits, I noticed that patients were fed and allowed to watch TV. but i could hardly see any staff around. Staff were only there to feed patients and give them medication. And as per my friend Cliff, he only saw the the specialist 1 a week. And after the visit it was pills and more pills.

He was realeased from the mental unit but was not the same pwerson i knew. He mwas more closed up and hated going out. When we finally managed to get him out he would do a ' David Copperfield ' on us and vanish into thin air. After looking everywhere, his mum called to say he was at home [early]. On his birthday at his mum's restaurant, would you believe that he escaped out of the kitchen window and ran home again ? im saying agaion cause he did it a number of times.

Then another friend of mine calls me up when im at work and gives the bad news that Cliff jumped off the 4th floor of his apartment.

What i mean is that these Menatl Hospital staff should be there cause they want to be there. The Specialists prescribe more medication for commission on the sold drugs and attention to life becomes an attention to extras.

sounds to me like your friend has some very serious issues and was getting really poor care.. and nurses arent allowed to anything more than what the doctor orders.. every pill, every everything has to be specifically written out by an MD and the nurse has to follow that.. least thats how it is here

Do you know that hanging around a paranoid person tends to make one a little paranoid too?.....Until...you get ahold of yourself that is....Kinda freaky..

Makes you feel like....should I be worried about this too?...Cause they make you feel like there's something wrong with you if your not worried about it...Rushing to the doctors all the time too.

Well, I saw the thread title and that debs had posted. I figured it would be two solid pages of debs trying to prove it, but it doesn't look like she has. 😉

Not when I have no one to talk to.....It's lonely in the new west wing...Just me, the white coats and my pc....but the food is good...don't give you silverware though....I have to behave...I don't like those white straight jackets....I like to be free...free....

I see they give you an Internet usage priviledge. One question: Who types for you with the straitjacket on?

I'm pretty good with a plastic spoon in my mouth.... 😄 ...though I hate it when that happens......man...they won't even give you a comb in here......The furnitures friendly enough....the lamp always has bright ideas....My bed just lays there and says nothing.....I really like the chair though.....I named em..Billybob....

wow, that's an amazing story. I was in a psych ward once (just to pick up my uncle, who was quite schitzo) anyhow, nurses would walk by, and I wanted to shout "I'm not nuts, I'm just picking somebody up" but that would have just made them sure that I was nuts. Damn, I hated all those patronizing smiles they gave me.

I want to go to a mental asylum, kill some assholes, and blame it on my malfunctioning brain..

You'll thank me later when taxes are spent on something worthwhile..
