There's this guy, and he's a real good bloke, so God decides to reward him.... so Gabriel goes down unto him, as angels do, and says, "God says I'm to give you whatever you want..." The bloke thinks for a minute, and asks, "If it's ok, I'd like to see heaven and hell...." "sorted," says the messenger of our Lord....
So he takes the bloke to hell... it's a lovely serene glade, the sun is shining, the trees are green, the birds are singing, and there are tables full of food all around... the food looks delicious. Sitting around the tables are thousands of men and women, chained to their chairs, with their necks strapped up so they can't move, and long metal tubes along their arms to prevent them from bending at wrist or elbow... the people can easily reach the food, but they cannot get it to their mouths, and they are crying and wailing.... "this is awful," says our hero, and begs Gabriel to show him heaven... so Gabriel obliges....it's a lovely serene glade, the sun is shining, the trees are green, the birds are singing, and there are tables full of food all around... the food looks delicious. Sitting around the tables are thousands of men and women, chained to their chairs, with their necks strapped up so they can't move, and long metal tubes along their arms to prevent them from bending at wrist or elbow... in fact, its identical to hell, but without the crying.... Our hero is wondering at this, and is just about to ask Gabriel what this all means, when suddenly he notices one of the men at the table pick up some food, and feed his neighbour.....
