and Yoda died when he was supposed to 😄
I just figured he didn't have to survive to aid the defeat of the Sith, so I had him die earlier than he does in THAT version.
either way its your story and i'm lovin it.
Chapter 10: Trial and Trouble
As expected Anakin’s trial was not a real trial, but an overwhelming amount of fear funneled into hatred by Tarkin. This was still Palpatine’s senate, and Tarkin knew how to use that to his advantage. But there was something not right here, Anakin could feel a sinister glee from within the Senate chamber. This was no ordinary concentration of angered senators, this was the dark side!
Anakin searched the room wildly, using the force to concentrate on the source of the power he felt. Near one of the entrances on the east side of the Senate Room, two glowing golden eyes pierced through the darkness surrounding them, and Anakin’s mind. Flashes of a hooded figure with those same eyes raced through Anakin’s mind.
The figure was standing over what appeared to be a small black hole, but one could see strange energies and winds coming from it. The figure added a red potion, a white potion, and a black potion. In a strange, cryptic language, the figure then began to recite something Anakin couldn’t understand, then put his hands into the darkness.
When the images faded Anakin caught the closing end of an argument between Governor Tarkin, and Chancellor Organa.
“Death!” Tarkin screamed, earning a large uproar from the Senate.
“No. Guilty he may be, he has fought valiantly against the Separatist movement. I notice you have been quick to glorify your efforts, despite the fact they don’t quite, match up with Anakin’s.”
Tarkin and Bail stared at one another, refusing to lose the mental and verbal battle to the other. Anakin was still trying to make sense of what happened, and what Bail meant by guilty.
“Senators, vote now!” Tarkin screamed, pressing down a button on his podium that transmitted a small graphic to the various senate pods in the room.
Chancellor Organa awaited nervously at his podium as the votes were coming in. He looked over to a bewildered Anakin, then behind Anakin a few rows was Padme and the children. Anakin turned immediately to see them, looking each of them in the face one by one.
Padme was a weepy mess, who rested her eyes on Luke’s shoulder. Luke looked at his father like he had no idea who he was, and he certainly didn’t feel that way. Ben was staring between Luke and Anakin, and was by far the most confused about everything. Leia held Shmi’s hand tightly as they each stared through their own tears at their father, who looked out of place, like his mind was somewhere else almost.
Bail half smiled toward Anakin as he announced Anakin would not be put to death, but would be banished. Although they argued for some time over where a safe enough place would be, Governor Tarkin finally offered a solution everyone could agree to.
In the outer rim planet of Eriadu, Governor Tarkin’s home planet, he “protects” or controls all of the planets in the region. At his request, the senate approved Anakin’s banishment to the small “uncivilized” swampy world known as Dagobah.
Anakin was in total shock. All of this seemed to have transpired in an instant, when he saw the glowing eyes again. He was immediately taken back to the hooded figured from earlier. This time, the white hole was forming into the figures hands, holding what appeared to be a small person. The glowing began to transform into a background, of what Anakin knew, but couldn’t believe he saw.
His home on Tattooine.
When Anakin came out of this trance, he noticed he was being shoved out of the Senate halls by angry clone troops, and several dozen that had him surrounded. Cameras, press, JedI and his family all struggled to speak with him as Tarkin’s troops led him to the transport outside. Padme screamed for him, but Luke managed to calm her down.
Anakin sat alone in a locked cell in the back of the ship for some time, trying to make sense of what just happened. All he knew was he had those images flash through his mind, and then suddenly he was being taken away for murder.
After only a few moments, the ship suddenly began to rumble, then began falling toward the ground. Anakin felt the force surrounding the ship, and aided in it’s slowing of the ship. There was still a crash, but it wasn’t bad on the ship or any of the passengers. Blaster fire erupted through the hallways shortly after and Anakin shook his head, realizing what had happened.
Luke and Ben rushed through the doors to the detention block and immediately took out the three guards in the room. They opened the door to Anakin’s cell and wasted no time as Luke screamed, “Why?”
“Luke, Ben, what in the blazes are you doing?”
“Did you kill the Chancellor or not?” Ben asked.
“Yes, I<“ he began to say, but stopped as the boys turned and rushed out of the room.
Blaster fire echoed down the hallways again, and he could hear and sense all sorts of disturbances in the force outside of the ship. His sons were dangerously close to the dark side, and Anakin could feel it. A small armies’ worth of soldiers poured into the crashed transport and removed Anakin to a new one.
Anakin stared out the window, feeling the dangerous energies of his sons tapping into the dark side. Anakin begged the force for guidance, but it was telling him to not pursuit his sons.
Anakin never told anyone this, but he had always seen the force in a strange light considering he had no father. He knows that the force created him, and in essence is his father, and the source of all creation. Yet, like a real father-son relationship, Anakin doesn’t always trust the force completely, and his mechanical arm is a direct result of that.
Luke and Ben were in a small two man air speeder, modified heavily by the Skywalker family. Luke was having no trouble piloting away from every bit of danger, and Ben was managing to score several shots from the saber blasters in his hands. Even a few JedI star fighters were speeding after them through Coruscant’s heavy traffic, but only Obi-Wan and Plo-Koon managed to catch up to them.
Ben wasted no time firing on both Obi-Wan and Plo-Koon, ignoring their JedI status and friendship to their father. They were caught up in the rush of heavy emotions, adrenaline, and as the two JedI Masters now felt, the dark side.
Plo-Koon’s fighter came downward aiming at the left quadrant on the backside. Luke easily dodged to the right, then dipped downward to dodge Obi-Wan. Luke made a sudden turn to the left and headed into oncoming traffic. Obi-Wan followed them while Plo-Koon continued forward, hoping to cut them off through a series of tunnels.
Obi-Wan noticed the oncoming clone transport ship, then the small freighter that it was firing at. Before he knew it, he was dodging the freighter and the clone ship. Then an explosion from behind knocked out his R2 unit and sent his ship to the ground. As he was falling, Plo-Koon’s ship zipped down toward Obi-Wan.
Plo-Koon masterfully kept his ship close enough for Obi-Wan to jump onto, then quickly landed the fighter to dodge further bits of debris from the explosion. The clone ships had crashed into one another while the freighter was grounded and fighting off the few clones that survived and parachuted down.
Obi-Wan watched as Luke and Ben blocked all of the dangerous blaster fire headed their way. Behind them was a young handsome human with his blaster scoring hits on any clone that moved, and a large Wookie with equal aim, but twice the anger in his screams.
“Don’t you think you kids are a bit too young to be playin with those kinda toys?” the young man asked.
“You’re the man with the giant teddy bear,” Luke said, earning a slight smirk from the young man, and a growl from his Wookie companion.
“Don’t worry Chewie he’s just teasin ya, but we gotta go, are you kids able to handle yourselves on a ship, you seem to be okay in a fight.”
Ben rushed inside the ship, and everyone quickly followed. “Hey kids what’s your names?”
“I’m Luke, this is my brother Ben.”
“I’m Han, I hope one of you can work a…” he paused as he saw the smaller of the two boys immediately climb down into the gun turrets. When Luke saw Ben, he quickly climbed to the top one, and Han merely shook his head saying “gun.”
Chewie had them off the ground and heading for the atmosphere when Han came in and began making preparations for hyperspace. Four clone fighters were firing on the freighter, when Luke and Ben finished studying the control layouts and began dropping the fighters.
Before Luke and Ben could finish the second two, the hyper drive kicked in and blasted them across the galaxy. Han and Chewie quickly made their way back to the guns to learn more about the strange children, but they had left. In a small room in the back, the two boys curled up on the floor and began sleeping.
“And you said this wasn’t a good idea Chewie,” Han whispered.
