Star Wars Risk: Rule the Galaxy! KMC game.

Welcome to the Star Wars Risk game thread. This is a game of debating skill and Star Wars lore. There are certain guidelines of course, but ultimately it is still a game of Risk, with planets substituted for territories and debating substituted for dice. It is in the mold of Decent Versus Thread (DVT), in that it is not always the winner who will claim the planet, but the individual that brings up the better case. Whoever the judges feel has made the better debate will be given the benefit of the doubt in the same way they would if they had the superior dice roll. All other calculations are left to the discretion of the judges.

As for the judges, they are: Illustrious (myself), Darth Janus, and Darth Faunus.

The rules for good debating are of course as follows:
--Any viable, factual evidence may contribute to good debating and are permitted.
--Countering and conceding arguments, while offering points that trump them will result in a good score.
--Attacking the individual for their views, or using fanboyism will result in a penalty.

There will be planets, and you’ll see staples like Coruscant, Tatooine, Dantooine, and the rest be used as viable territories. As with Risk, there will be a map, and it will likely help your argument if you only attack adjacent planets with the forces you have.

Character rules:
--Nihilus does not have force eating ability, we do not know enough about how to counter this ability to allow for him to have it.
--Character induced stupidity (CIS) applies; Plot induced stupidity (PIS) does not.

Prior to the game, however, there will be a draft. This is round 1.

The rules of the draft are simple, you post here with your first choice, and if it is not taken, you will have that individual as a general leading your armies. Depending on how many participants, there may be multiple rounds of drafting.. Any individual in the Star Wars Universe is a viable draft pick. Happy drafting!

Anyone with any comments should post them in this thread, however, DO NOT post any picks in this thread, they will not be counted. PM me any character you wish to use as your first round pick.

Keep in mind, that while a character may be powerful, we are scoring by who has made the better case for their character WINNING. So if you pick an individual like Ragnos, be prepared to throw everything you know about him in your argument.

Please do not post until Janus and Faunus has posted.

And Illustrious, I don't know, having Ragnos kind of overpowers it. There should be certain characters unable to participate.

You said it yourself, it's not necessarily who WILL win, it's who puts the best case FOR their character winning. Keep in mind we don't know that much about Ragnos, so it will require a good debator to use him to his full power.

Can I pick Corran Horn?

You can pick whoever you want, provided you are willing to expend a 1st round pick on Corran Horn, and you are capable of debating for whyhe would beat other guys and their respective armies.

Keep in mind, all characters selected will become a general of an army, so it's not necessarily solely the person who is the best 1 on 1 fighter.

Debate, people.

Let me get this straight. I am trying to convince you three that Corran Horn would win against, say, Yoda. Well, screw that. I want Yoda instead if it isn't to late to change.

You can always pick Corran Horn in the later rounds when everyone took all the big hitters. Nice sleeper btw.

Well, even if I lose, I would rather have it more "fair". To me at least, Ganner is a good choice. But, you gave me Yoda, so, I am going with him.

I appreciate the attempt, you can still grab Ganner with a lower draft pick. But it would be a big disadvantage if someone has Exar Kun and you have Corran Horn, for example.
