I agree. I did LotF for English in Grade 9, and I really didn't "enjoy" reading it -- it's a bit too dark for that. But I loved the allegory and how everyone symbolizes something and how deceptively deep it became. If you're into things like that, it's a terrific read and stays with you for a long time.
I read 'Of Mice and Men' in School and it must have been a good book because I always remembered it and bought it later in life to read again.
and when I was in school I wasn't much of a reader so for the book to stay with me and for me to remember the story etc shows just how good it was. ✅
and I really like the 1992 remake of 'Of Mice and Men' directed by Gary Sinise and starring him and John Malkovich. I thought it was well done.
I haven't read the book of 'Lord of the Flies' but I have seen the films (Original & 1990 remake).
I love the story, it's so sad tho cry
