Anyone read "Of Mice and Men" and "Lord of the Flies"?

I read these books recently, truly superb.

I read Of Mice and Men, but not Lord of the Flies. Of Mice and Men was really good, I've heard Lord of the Flies is sitting on the fine line between good and so-so...

I did OF MIce and Men as coursework for my english gcse, it was a good book but kinda spoilt by pickin it to pieces like we did

Yeah I did Of Mice and Men for my English GCSE exam. I really enjoyed it, but picking it to pieces does take the enjoyment out slightly.

i really like lord of the flies....havent read of mice and men

of mice and men is excellent!im doing it at the moment for GCSE. I love the time era that it is set in. JB Priestly is a great writer

I read Lord of the Flies but not of mice and men. Lotf is boring at first but it builds up speed and soon you cant put it down.

Lord of the Flies is boring in like the first chapter

btw, my friend started, two weeks later didn't read the 5th chapter, and then quit

I agree. I did LotF for English in Grade 9, and I really didn't "enjoy" reading it -- it's a bit too dark for that. But I loved the allegory and how everyone symbolizes something and how deceptively deep it became. If you're into things like that, it's a terrific read and stays with you for a long time.

I read Of Mice and Men when i was 11 and half of Lord of the Flies when about 12. They were good. lord of the Flies kinda sucked.

Lord of the flies got some action by the end but it got to dark.

I read 'Of Mice and Men' in School and it must have been a good book because I always remembered it and bought it later in life to read again.
and when I was in school I wasn't much of a reader so for the book to stay with me and for me to remember the story etc shows just how good it was. ✅
and I really like the 1992 remake of 'Of Mice and Men' directed by Gary Sinise and starring him and John Malkovich. I thought it was well done.
I haven't read the book of 'Lord of the Flies' but I have seen the films (Original & 1990 remake).
I love the story, it's so sad tho cry

i saw the film version of lord of thr flies when i was younger and thought it was really good and, its sad to say, a rather acurate prediction of what would happen in that kind of situation.
i went back a couple of years ago and read the bok, but it was a bit of a trial to get through in places 🙄

I have read 'Of Mice and Men' but not 'Lord of the Flies'. It was really different from books I usually read, it was surprisingly good.

i never read of mice and men, but i did lord of the flies in grade 9. it was a good book, i liked how dark it got and like chez said how everyone symbolizes something. there were some creepy images in for sure, and i could definitely see something like that happening.
