Funk

I cant be the only one. Whoe else loves funk music? I love Parliament, Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, War, Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire. Those are all some of the greatest groups.

I was wondering, are there any new funk bands these days? It almost seems like funk is permanently dead.

There're the Chili Peppers. And Rage. But neither is purely funk.

you mentioned my two favorites right away - but is War really funk? They seem a bit unclassifiable to me, they have funk elements, but also latin and just rock. hmm...

but Sly & The Family Stone are my favorite by far.

War is pretty undefinable, but they are a great group. They are more funk than anything else. I would shave put JAmes brown on the list, but he is more sould than funk. Parliament to me is one of the best though, they really mixed funk and psychedelia.
