I Will Be Yours
Words and Music by Jonathan Jordan

Woman standing in grass up to her waist,
runs through the blades, necked, without a trace.
Arms open wide taking in the sun, she’s nature’s child,
she’s not the only one.
I will be yours...
Man sitting lotus style on a rock,
symbols of many colors scratched about him in chock.
Wind blows around him, but he will not give,
he’s one with the sky, now, he knows how to live.
I will be yours...
Many years go by and children have grown old.
City screaming loud as I turn off my cell phone.
Got to ketch a ride, got to get on home,
I’m dying slowly inside, but I’m not alone.
I will be yours...
A shot rings out, another child is dead.
We turn our faces, can not turn our heads.
Among the candles there, within the chapel square,
another mother’s prayer will cast a painful tear.
I will be yours...

She Cries
Words and Music by Jonathan Jordan

Walk with me where the wind doesn’t blow,
and I’ll talk to you as if you knew what’s in my heart.
For it’s a sad tale, one that can’t be told.
She doesn’t understand a single thing I say.
Every word I utter is closed like shutters in her heart.
It’s been a lonely road and still her face is there.
Where the wind doesn’t blow,
she cries,
but nobody knows.
It’s the way she guards her heart.
For where the wind doesn’t blow,
no one will hear her cry,
and the tears she can deny.
But no one will understand, why I cry.
Another night in this lonely town,
who should be there is not around.
Again, I can’t hear the wind,
but somehow I know she cries.
She can’t hide her pain from me,
every time I look into her eyes it’s there.
For it’s a long look before she turns away

Still My Friend?
Words and Music by Jonathan Jordan
© 2004 Jonathan Jordan
Such a short time we have going around this place.
Just enough time to say "hello" with a loving embrace.
Then goodbye comes to soon,
like the man in that big old moon,
who shed a tear for a love gone by,
his tears are stars in my night sky.
Are you still my friend?
From now until the bitter end?
Are you still my friend?
Take your time to know,
the words I say are words from my heart.
At last the truth can be heard.
Hold me now. don’t let me fall.
For my heart is not my own,
and my tears fall like rain.
In the spring, they will nourish me again.
For I still have hope, that you’re still my friend.
Many moons ago I stood here alone.
One voice of many not yet shown.
Then confusion rocked my world,
like a stone from heaven hurled.
Struck me down in the worst of ways,
it'll take years to get over those days.

Waiting for Yesterday
Words and Music by Jonathan Jordan
© 2004 Jonathan Jordan
Standing in her faraway gaze,
There’s a woman dressed in white.
takes a photograph from the wall.
She’s waiting for yesterday.
There was a time when she smiled and danced,
about the man that she did love.
But time is crueler than his fate,
now she’s waiting for yesterday.
But yesterday’s gone and will not return,
Faded petals and photographs,
will not bring back those who have gone,
no use waiting for yesterday.
All alone she speaks quietly to herself,
lives in another time,
like the memories placed upon her shelf.
She is crying…
She’d rather stay in that time gone past,
where only smiles lit her day,
than face the coldness of the sun,
ya she waiting for yesterday.
For memories have their own strange way,
of weeding out heartache and woe.
Sometimes real life can not compare,
to waiting for yesterday.
But yesterday’s gone and will not return,
Faded petals and photographs,
will not bring back those who have gone,
no use waiting for yesterday…
no use waiting for yesterday…
no use waiting for yesterday.
