Halo: Darkness Ascendant

OK, this is the new Halo RPG, it's hosted, as such I will keep the plot flowing, you will have limitless freedom within this RPG as long as your posts are in cooperation with other peoples and that they have relevance, a post that has nothing to do with anything will be ignored, repetition of this process will result in punishment. Haha, dont get me wrong though, you'll have loads of fun. Make a sheet, dont start the RPG until two or three sheets are made, remember that I am in control of the environment, at the beginning it is fragile and thus dont make any enemies unless we are already under attack.

"The ships under attack, defend boarders." Such a big affecting thing is my job, it will be yours after I make the first post, but after it is being boarded you can make your own enemies. (Three elites, one red, and a squad of grunts rounded the corner) is ok, after though.

Rules: #1: You WILL write your posts like a section of a novel, please try to use correct grammar and use literate techniques, your post must be clear and easy to understand.

#2: Try and avoid short posts, there will be times when that is hard so you may make a short post during those times.

#3: No “Godding”, I don’t care if you’re a Spartan or not you cannot take one fifty thousand flood and hope to win, you can go down in a blaze of glory, but you cannot win UNLESS you find some ingenious way to write your way out while keeping in realistic parameters.

# 4: Related to the above rule, your posts must be realistic, no “Takes his gun and shoots 50 flood.” Don’t just write a vague action, write how you do that action and the effect that action makes. Your posts will not be vague.

# 5: Be fair, if you and three other characters are ambushed, you must remember that they will be reacting at the same time as you, so don’t take down 5 of the 8 enemies, take down two or three and leave a fair amount for your fellows.

#6: Your sheet must be detailed, not five, three letter sentences, also your sheet must follow the same or similar format as the rest.

# 7: It would help if you knew what Halo was and so forth, if you have any questions PM me because I probably know more about Halo than any other person on this site.

# 8: I am new at making a RPG, I tried one already but the rules were not followed and I tried to explain things and so forth but confusion just destroyed the flow of that RPG, I am going to enforce these rules more than I did before, but they are not bars, they are flexible, but you MUST PM me before bending a rule.

Race: Human (NANO TECH Spartan Variant)

Appearance: Armor is near identacle to Mark 6 armor seen in Halo 2, main differences are it is entirely jet black, as well as the visor.

Occupation: Spartan

Rank: Major

Personality: Ten is a Spartan, and thus is attitude is 100% Spartan...most of the time. He is one for rules and regulations, but because of further attempts to purge all emotion, they surfaced them instead. Ten's training keeps him in check, but he does not have the advantage of nearly being a cold shell.

History: Ten is a NANO Tech Spartan Variant. His armor is more advanced, but only by a small amount, it houses his nano-bots or nanites which are in his blood. The visor is black because the nanites are inside it. He has further genetic enhancement, upgraded implants, plus the nanites. This makes him incredibly strong, by Spartan standards, but he is a prototype, and thus when he maxes himself out he has to pulse, which puts him out of combat for a while. While training, his men were under the vigilant eye of PsyCore. All but three of his men died due to enhancement problems. Nine, a women, died in his arms. When PsyCore personelle arrived they did nothing. Seven died drowning in his own blood and choking on hostile nanites. Again PsyCore just monitered. Ten hates PsyCore, their leader was nicknamed Arch-Vile. His men were trained in tandem with enhanced dogs with implants that allowed them and their trainer to share thoughts, making the dogs almost, if not completely, sentient. His history is largely unkown, he is currently on the Iron Fist.

Race: Human (Spartan-III Variant)

Appearance: Wearing Mark VI MJOLNIR armour most of the time, but is of British descent, with ice-blue eyes and a mop of red hair.

Occupation: Spartan

Rank: Chief Petty Officer(2nd Class)

Personality: Gary is a Spartan. He's rules and regulations to the core, and takes orders from his superiors immediately. However, due to the insistence of Chief Petty Officer Mendez he can think for himself and isn't afraid to be creative in the battlefield. He, like all other Spartans, is an excellent leader.

History: Gary was of the Spartan-III variant, trained by the renouned CPO Mendez, the very mentor of the near legendary SPARTAN-II's. His training completed just two years before the Covenant glassed Reach.

(Nice character, also i forgot to mention that I have some people that already want to be Spartans so hold that off until I can clear them or not. This may seem unfair but they asked 1st.)

Race: Human

Apearance: Cooper wears traditional Marine gear, with the exception of a small exosceleton "wired" as he would say, surgically attached the docs at MED would say, to his leg. It allowed him to move faster, carry more weight, and if need be kick a covenants jewels clear out the top of its skull. It wasnt clunky, cymbersome steel as most would think but a light, flexable metal.....some "new advancement", which had the MED personell in quite a stir when he left his last assignment, amidst the wreckage of a previous last stand by a human armada, which was consequently destroyed. Since then he had been reassigned, his special attributes along with his expert training intact.

Occupation: Gold Lead(Part of an elite exfiltration unit designed to deal with targets of immense importance, which could not be attacked by a mass invasion, single operatinve, or any other tactical means.(More in history)
Rank: Sgt Major
Personality: Coop under regular circumstances is the friend you call over when you want to dig a pool in you back yard, or do some touch up work to the house. He was fun to hang with, and worked hard to get the job done. Coop under fire was annother man alltogether. His stature begat that of brass, he always had a way "out", and never surrendered. With his Carbine, shotgun, and a couple of frags he is one marine "specialist" you want on you side.
History: Coop began his military career as anyone would, pvt, diggin trenches......and graves. After a couple of conflicts, and in the line of duty he had performed certain risks that the Brass thought deserved a few metals.......a few more metals......and a few more metals later he was finally off to do what he had always wanted to do. After the top of the line training in almost every aspect of combat Cooper began his career "Spec Ops". Consisting of three squads of 5, this team was 15 strong. He began in Green Team, as a member of the firing team carrying carbines and smg's.......but he quickly moved up the ranks until finally he was Gold Lead, the head hancho. With him at the helm his squad of "super marines" some would call them took out 3 Covenant Flag ships, along with a few cruisers from the inside out. They, unknown to most of the poppulation helped to prevent the bombing to military facilities surrounding Earth. But just as soon as he was where he wanted to be, BOOM........his leg to a direct hit from one of the Covenants plasma rifles, it never regrew the tissue back completely, he was booted from his position and left hanging to dry infront of the Top military officials, a broken man, rolling about in a wheel chair. THey offered him the exosceleton and he took it......he was back in the frey he though.......Damn was he right!

Occupation:His father kept him fit at a young age and although he didnt want to his father enrolled him into the marines.Soon after a few days of fighting lost battles he knew he was a better pilot than soldier.He thanked the video games and simpods he used on his colony during his young age and he went into the pilot core.Soon after roughly 5 months of piloting and going to the shooting range he maintained a good physique and still was a pretty good shot.

Equipment😖ide holster holds a pistol and he leaves a pistol slot on the side of his medium battle armor for any "trophies" he may acquire.He carries a MA5B for his main weapon and 5 clips of 60 for it.Also with his good relations in the marines he made in his few short days in it he had a armory outfit his MA5B with a small tactical scope ontop and he will sometimes acquire trophies from the marines under his father who is around 50 and is control of a fleet of 3 cruisers and 5 battleships in the navy.He and his father never got along and huon will mostly refuse to call for help from his dad.

And one question....Do we have to be on halo or are we gonna be on human planets cause i always wanted to fight in a human colony.

To answer Huon's this is a topoc for some discussion, I can start earlier in the plot on a human world, which will actually happen in the book and MOD, the ship is on a Human world first BEFORE exploring and finding Halo. So, Halo quick or start earlier, this is a players choice.[]

Equipment: Pilot uniform and helmet. has a SMG when out of pelican, along with his magnum.

Personality: Creative problem-solver. Witty, but dead serious when needed. when off-duty, he's a funny man.

History: Garrison is the latest in a long line of air support pilots. his great-great-great-great grandfather was a helicopter pilot in the vietnam war, his son flew in Operation: Desert Storm, his son flew in Operation: Iraqi Freedom, his son in the next war, and so on. he left his girlfriend when they both enlisted, but has come to like his new co-pilot, Haley Ashwood. He helped evac marines at the battle of New Mombasa, and flew out of the radius of the slipspace blast hours before it occured. he doesnt think the Spartans are show-offs, like the other marines.

i put my rank beneath my guys name. also, i think starting on the ship would be a good idea, so everyone can get to know everyone before we end up on halo.

Halo: Darkness Ascendant

The Master Chief is believed to be the only Spartan alive…this fact is disputed, and is untrue. This story will prove that fact, and another. Not only Spartans are heroes. At the end of the Covenant war people will realize that it wasn’t our fleet, it want our tech…not some fancy new weapon. It was the courage, will, and bravery of the men and women who fought back against a more advanced oppressor. If we win.

After the Chief destroyed the first discovered Halo he, with the help of others including Sgt. Johnson, which he found aboard a new model pelican, took over a covenant flagship and returned to reach, discovered several other Spartans, most of which ultimately died, and returned eventually to earth. Many protest this fact despite its genuinety.

This story will prove once and for all the untrueness of that argument, but that is not why you will read this and see. This story is to tell the truth about a small collective of very brave people, some of who gave their lives to protect humanity, and let all know what they did. In the words of a famous elite: “Open your eyes brothers!”

Our story starts aboard the exploration vessel Iron Fist, you will not learn where it ends, until the end. (Despite where this starts, it will be in slipspace.)

Captain Jack Radgar stood silently in the bridge of the Iron Fist watching the glass object in front of him that was the main tactical screen. He had a large chest and shoulders, his arms were thick with muscle, he was in his late thirties maybe early forties, his eyes were a dark brown, his hair black, was cut short. (Not every Spartan will have an AI) “Flores…how long until we reach Diagona?”

A smart AI, much like Cortana, but with hair down to her waist, and with a color green, appeared beside Jack, she placed her hands on her hips. “How many times are you going to ask that? It’s been forty seven already?”

Jack sighed again, “Well I m a human and I get bored, how long until we reach Diagona.”

Flores imitated a sigh, “Two hours and thirty seven minutes, twenty eight point o two three five zero 3 oh four”

“Ok! Ok, enough!”

“Seconds” She finished.

The ship was en route to a outer most colony that we had lost contact, the data files sent before contact lost, (A procedure of scans history was put into effect recently after so many colonies had been bombed by the Covenant) has revealed no ships of any kind. Their transmitter had probably fried, the planet was small, and thus had a weak atmosphere, meteors often hit he planet, probably one hit the communications centre just like the other colonies.

Flores’s voice sounded over the comm., “Rise and shine sleepy heads, time to get up, get dressed, get fed, and when your done that, get to work.”

In his quarters Ten was already awake, he stepped up to the door which opened admitting him, he stepped out into the hall, looking both ways, and slowly clicked his helmet on and made his way to the cafeteria to get something to eat, it was the night shift, the crowd wouldn’t be big.

Gunnery Sergeant Razak snapped out of his bed and quickly got dressed, putting on his off duty uniform, he staggered to the wall and pushed a button on his console opening a channel to all his men, “Ok people get your arses out of bed and get something to eat before the non combat techies get it all. His marines in their quarters, (It was a small ship, and had no barracks) slowly got out of bed and made the trip to the cafeteria.

Huon stood up in his bunk and walked down the hall to the ships bathroom to take a quick shower before going to the mess hall for breakfast.As he got in and took a shower he then got out and walked down the arching halls and got lost as he usually did but with the held of a marine he made his way to the mess hall and got a nice slab of bacon to munch on before he got to go and "prepare" his pelican for action.Really he sat in his cockpit and listened to the latest music.

After a quick check of the primary flight systems he took out his disk and put it into a player he usually had in his belt which was small like all of them and he inserted a music chip into the main holder and listened to the song while he took a look over todays schedule

Walk around ship for a little bit and chat to marines
Go to mess for dinner
Go make sure pelican is locked up

A small schedule as he was supposed to double the time he checked his pelican but he was a fast learner and found new ways to make his work quicker.He didnt tell anyone as then someone might get nosy.

Then after a primary engines pc test he then initiated the last few diagnostics and then walked down the ramp and went off to help a pilot
nearby who found a small detachment in a screw by the main hold area.

[]o and didnt realize it was night after a quick re-read.But technically in space you dont know and i guess its sorta like morning if we are awaking.right?[]

Garrison had woke up to the sound of Flores voice. he got up from his bed (pilots got better privliges than marine grunts). he walked down the hall to the shower-room. he went in and got cleaned up. He got out and bumped into his co-pilot, Haley, who had also left the shower room. she held her towel with one hand and saluted with the other.

"Sir"

"Carry on, Ashwood."

He smiled and went to his room. he knew he couldn't have any feelings for her, that it would get in the way of their work. he knew that once they honorably discharged, he would try to hook up with her. he got dressed, gulped down his nutrition food packet, and proceded to The Iron Fist's Pelican hangar, to do a pre-flight check of Kilo-619.

After a light repair of the detachment which proved to only be a anoyance he walked over and stood by the entrance and saw the marine nearby.Then he leaned against the cold metal and talked to the marine.

Huon:"Hey marine,can i help you?"

Garrison raised an eyebrow at the young pilot.

"That's Sir, Private First Class."

He made a point of pointing to the Silver bar on his helmet. he climbed onto the pelican and started to check the instruments. He looked through the cockpit to see Ashwood walk towards the bird in her form-fitting flight suit. Lt. Garrison sat back to see how this young pilot would look at his co-pilot.

Huon:Well a fine day to you too.

He then walked off towards his own pelican and drank a bit of the coffee he had left in there the last day.Then after he stopped the checks and set the simple program he made and was mostly a hacking program that does good things he then initiated it and closed hsi pelican then with the coffee still in his hands he walked off to a pilot named Harold

Harold:Hey Huon
Huon:Nothing.But my pop sent in a message although i had to use a passcode to see the message saying that there are reports of covies where we are going.He said he might be able to lend aid for the good of the colony.He just wants to see the look on my face when we cant handle it.Trying to get me to be a ship commander i guess.
Harold:Wow your lucky with a dad in the brass.My dad ran a newspaper in Chicago.
Huon:We never really had much in common.Seeya

He walked off to the pelican the marine had gone in and waited for the marine to get out so he could tell the marine about the reports since he knew the marine since he had directed him last week to the mess hall.
